Welcome Ciann! Its great that the show was able to coax you back towards the books so you could finish them. Did you have any particular favourite book or character arc?
Welcome!
That sounds like me, I used to make lists as well
Retellings are a favourite of mine too. I absolutely love Circe and The Song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller. Retellings of fairytales and folklore is even better
Welcome; it's to have you here!
Welcome to the party Ciann! I too and a big mythology fan (Greek, Roman, Norse, WoT, LoTR, etc. etc.). Can't wait to get to know you more!
Welcome to Tar Valon!!
I found podcasts in the last year and love hockey pods Do have a certain genre of podcasts you like?
Hello and welcome, Ciann!
Hi and welcome!!!
Welcome!!! I am a mythology fan, as well. I love all types but I think Egyptian may be a favorite and one I want to learn more about.
Have you read American Gods? It is my absolute favorite book and such an eclectic mix of different cultures mythological beings and such. So good!
Welcome Ciann, lovely to meet you!
I love mythology and folklore too, always gravitated towards anything involving fairies and plants - especially if it's local but I'll happy with any flavour of weird and wonderful really
Welcome to Tar Valon! I’m also big into mythology (of all cultures) and a huge fan of logic puzzles and word games. Sadly I don’t make much time for those these days.
Welcome to TarValon.Net!
Mythology and language were two subject I really loved in school, so when I chose to do a Classical Studies degree in college the history part came along in the package. It also expanded my knowledge from just Greek and Roman into Egyptian territory as well.

Welcome Ciann! :swordy
Welcome Ciann, it's awesome to have you here!!
Welcome to Tar Valon, Ciann! I am a fan of mythology too, mostly Greek and Egyptian though. Well, if we consider Tolkien's creation as a real world myth, and probably we should, then the first place goes to Tolkien before other myths.
Do you know Age of Mythology? Oh nostalgia, that was a great game!
Welcome! I'm also interested in mythology, though I find I've been distracted by other things in recent years.
:welcome Ciann.
It was a great game! Have you tried the (relatively) new Chinese expansion?Do you know Age of Mythology? Oh nostalgia, that was a great game!
To be honest, teenage me didn't make great choices either. They cut the degree program because it wasn't popular enough, but those of us who had already declared were grandfathered in. What they didn't explicitly tell us was that they were going to be cutting a bunch of the classes that went along with it. :/I would've loved to have done something like that but seventeen year old me didn't make Great Choices, and whilst I loved a lot of the Lit. and History I studied, nothing Ancient/Classical was on offer, which kind of was unfortunate.
Welcome to Tar Valon. You will find we are a pretty welcoming group. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Hello and welcome!
Wonderful! And heh. I mean, it happens to all of us at one time or another, I suspect. I have literally zero friends or social life and that's been the case for about fifteen years, so that kind of helps me get my reading and puzzling hours in.
Thank you! Oh, that sounds absolutely wonderful. I would've loved to have done something like that but seventeen year old me didn't make Great Choices, and whilst I loved a lot of the Lit. and History I studied, nothing Ancient/Classical was on offer, which kind of was unfortunate.
Thank you! And absolutely. The poor things had been sitting on my bookcases for far too long whilst being neglected, I fear. I just lost interest in fantasy generally at one point, so that didn't help. Both loves have returned, though, and it was great fun finishing them off. Funny what things I remembered and what I didn't, though. I'm absolutely a basic b**ch and always gravitated towards basically anything involving Moiraine, Siuan, Birgitte, Nynaeve or Avi, tbh. [Edited to include Verin because not including her was too big an oversight. Note to self: do not rush posts…] Don't know how I'd rank the books but basically 3 through 7 are pretty *chefs kiss* to me in particular. Oh, and special mention to New Spring, which actually was the one WoT book I read about five times as a teenager. Had no idea WHY I was so drawn to it and Moiraine and Siuan back then, but Very Late To Understanding Myself me totally gets it now, oops. #pillowfriends4life
Thank you!
I only got around to reading New Spring in the past year or so. It was so nice to have a new (to me) WoT book after so many years. I loved seeing so much more of Siuan and Moiraine early days in the tower!
Welcome to Tar Valon, Ciann!!
I’m also a fan of mythology. Greek is my favorite, but I’m also a fan of Egyptian. Celtic mythology is something that I want to learn more about. I’ve got a book with some of the myths, but I haven’t invested any time into it yet. I also like some crosswords but lean more towards word searches.
