First donation back in Finland. Was all good (as always) and my iron was super this time! :pleased-1: I can donate once more this year, in the beginning of Dec.

Glad to hear it all went fine Taika :hug

So, I did some math....

If we truly push to meet the goal of 42 donations in one year, and we are currently sitting with 25 donations around the globe. That means we need to get 6 donations each month for October, November, and December.

Are there six members who can donate in October? Then 6 different members for November?

I think this is totally possible! Who's with me! :horsey

I haven't posted them here, but I have donated three times since my last post and will be able to donate again in Oct.

I can do it in October. If I get my butt in gear and do it soon, I may be able to get another one in before the end of the year.

Brandon, be sure to fill out the form on the first page of this thread for each of your donations. I only have the one in February recorded. :( You can click on my signature and it will take you directly to that page. ;)

That would be fantastic Dnae! I really think we can get to 42 units of blood donated before December 31st!

Got turned down for 12.4 blood a few weeks ago. Donated yesterday and had 13.4. \o/

However, the nurse stuck the needle all the way through the vein, had to switch arms, and now my right elbow is swollen, hurts, and has an almost palm sized bruise. :(

Elin, I do have your Nov. 11th donation recorded ;)

Marivea, I am so sorry that happened! I am thrilled you were able to donate though. I have had nurses puncture the vein all the way though, and it does hurt! I hope it is feeling better now. The bruise can sometimes last for a while, but I sure hope the swelling didn't last for too long. :(

We have 33 pints of blood donated so far. We have 2 weeks left to make it to 42. 9 more donations needed! Only 9!
Tell your Brother's and Sister's, fellow JM's and Citizens! Only 9 more donations needed by the end of the month. :joy

I have an appointment on the 22nd. Here's hoping I don't forget! Which is a distinct possibility.

If you're worried about your iron levels, I have found that taking an iron pill for a few days preceding the appointment is generally enough to see you to at least a 13.5 level.

It's still a little swollen. :look:

Dnae! I have that problem, too. Put it on your phone calendar with an alarm?

WOOT!

I tried giving blood, but I am not accepted at our local donation center because of having Multiple Sclerosis. The rules in general state that people with MS can donate, but each donation center is allowed to decide if their facility wishes to accept blood from people with MS or not. Ours does not. :(
Maybe in the future they will feel more secure in accepting blood from me. :cheeseeni:

We are at 37 pints of blood donated around the world!

Our goal of 42 pints by the end of December is totally doable! Only 5 more pints needed! You are all amazing!

My husband Topher Cor'dazar is a citizen, and he is going to donate. We were discussing the blood drive last night, and he said we will try to find a location that will accept MS patients as well. Hopefully that will be 2 more pints out of the 5 we need!

Just got back from donating! They gave me a long-sleeved t-shirt! :pleased-1:
I'll fill out the form a little later. That will make three total for me. Let me know if I forgot to fill one of the forms or something.
