The 2010 Robert Jordan Memorial Scholarship recipient has been chosen! The winner of the $500 scholarship award was selected by the Hall of the Tower based on the essay prompt, "How I plan to use my studies to become a Servant of All." With over 40 applicants, this year proved the most difficult to decide.

The 2010 winner is Christopher Lipnickas. Christopher is studying Psychology at Wichita State University, with future plans of becoming a substance abuse counselor. To read his winning essay, click here.

We are currently conducting an interview with Christopher to learn more about him and his plans. Check back for more details about this year's winner!

The Hall was so impressed with all of the essays this year that we decided to select scholarship finalists for 2010. We would like to share these essays as well, as each one shows the true spirit of being a Servant of All. Click here to read the finalist essays.

On behalf of TarValon.Net, Inc, I would like to extend my congratulations to Christopher and the 2010 finalists. We wish you all the best in your academic and professional pursuits!

The Robert Jordan Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded by TarValon.Net, Inc. to a fan of the Wheel of Time who is an undergraduate student at an accredited college or university. For more information about the scholarship and other Philanthropy programs, see our Membership Manual.

Thanks. That's good to know though -- the auto copy feature of the site news doesn't copy over html code. :look:

On behalf of my son, Chris, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and offers of congratulations. Chris would love to join the community, however, he is taking 8 classes this semester in addition to trying out for the school bowling team and becoming a Big Brother in the Big Brother Big Sisters program. He has his hands full right now but sends his thanks and is looking forward to Towers of Midnight!

Thank you to both Kariada Sedai and Ne'Merith Sedai for the announcements, articles, and interview! You did a beautiful job of summing up my son. He's borderline insane, but I love him! :kiss
