Social Marketing Team
We are currently cultivating a pretty amazing Social Media Team, but we are now looking for enthusiastic members for the following areas:
- Tumblr Coordinator - under the direction of Social Media Manager, develop monthly communication plans and post tumblr relevant content
- External Networks Liaison [1-2] - help keep in contact with Wheel of Time partner networks to cross-promote relevant content (such as announcements from the Wheel of Time official channels, sharing Tarvalon times on Dragonmount, etc)
Job Duties
- Socializing and promoting TarValon.Net Inc through various social media content posted on our active social networks such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr
- Support of real live social events, such as DragonCon, JordanCon, etc. through social media channels (may include contests, live-streaming, pre-marketing and post--marketing)
- Keeping current members informed of site announcements (facebook only), ongoing site events, WoT related content and other relevant posts (all networks)
- Promotion and distribution of TarValon Times in the internal and external social networks
- Promotion of site content to current and potential members
- Increase social engagement for current TV.net members both on social channels and on the site
- Attract non-members to the tarvalon site through creative use of social media
Expectations
- Must have been a member of TarValon.Net for at least 3 months. Open to any rank; citizen or above.
- Should have prior social media experience, preferably managing a non-personal account (such as a business or organizational page) Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Must be flexible, creative and have an ability to pivot quickly, sometimes with very little notice.
- Time Requirement
While it shouldn't take more than 5 hours a week to actively participate on the team, it is important to check in every day for about 15 minutes a day. The social team is agile and moves quickly and we must be able to adapt to the most current demands. This requires a daily commitment.
Position Overview
The Social Marketing Team (SMT) is responsible for marketing TarValon.Net to current members and external non-members (i.e. external marketing) through social media platforms. Currently, the social media channels include: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterset, Instagram and developing Tumblr. In its current scope of responsibilities, the social media team has been merged with the tower voices team and is now responsible for all of the previous Voice duties, including site announcements. The intention of SMT is to increase current member engagement on both social media channels and on the site, attract new members to the site and to help improve the Search Engine Optimization ratings of Tarvalon.net. The SMT will work with other staff on the site as needed, including the Graphics Development Team, the Department of Events and Conferences, TarValon Times, Technology, Library, The executive team and the Department of Community Outreach.
