I also love Adichie! Y'all should listen to her TED talks, especially "The Danger of a Single Story" (I think that's what it's called...)

I had to read a book in college that I think would fit into this very well. I only sort of enjoyed it, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't had to read it...

It's called "Touching My Father's Soul: A Sherpa's Journey to the Top of Everest" and it mixes the author's experience during the infamous May 1996 ascent and his father's historic climb, when he assisted Sir Edmund Hillary to the top of Everest.
