For me it's more so with books. I go out of my way to suggest books to friends, and then most of the time they don't like the book. So either I'm a poor judge of character or they suck for not liking the book. I'll go with the latter.

I got a former friend to read Steelheart once. He was huge into comic books and I thought he'd like it. He just called it derivative and had nothing else to say about it. :\

I'm not moving or anything. I just box up stuff and put it in my closet or attic if it sits out long enough, which a lot of books did. I also don't really have a lot of shelf space in my place so stuff rotates like this.

Also read Mitosis which is a short story that's inbetween the first and second book. Gives some better exposition for the 2nd book, I hear.

I've read the first book, and I have the other two. Even got them all signed by Sanderson at a book event he did for the last book. I really enjoyed the concept for the book. I should read the other two, but I literally just packed them up in a box last night.
