Been awhile since I've posted, but I'm currently in the Shadow Rising, and it struck me as to part of the answer for one of the prophecies.
"Twice dawns the day his blood is shed. Once for mourning. Once for birth."
Rand is a warder. I believe Alanna will die at a critical point, and Rand...
You can't really take into consideration Rand's knowledge at that point. He does things without thinking, and sometimes doesn't even understand what he just did. That entire fight in tel'aranrhiod between him and Ishamael was a perfect example. Ishi wasn't trying to kill him with the power...
Aulrick, a lot of stuff you post sound silly to us (like the Dark One dying and this being the LAST battle instead of A last battle). But we don't make fun of you for that, or at least I don't. Please be a little nicer even if you don't agree.
Gundam, I think alot of us thought that the true power would somehow need to be utilized to touch the Dark One. However; your theory brings something new that I never considered. I never thought that Callandor could be a sa'angreal amplifying the True Power while a normal sa'angreal could not...
This is why I like you Morrighan. You don't just want to read and find out.
To me, I think that with the buffer gone, then someone wielding Callandor can basically draw unlimited power well beyond what that channeller is capable of holding without being burned out.
Maybe it's intended...
Ha. True enough. But even that sort of long-winded reply would be only partially correct. It's not just a sword and a sa'angreal, but something more. It's required for the last battle, and has the buffer missing that a sa'angreal usually has to prevent the wielder from drawing too much...
I found something in the Shadow Rising. My image of Callandor is definitely wrong. In the chapter where Rand fights his 3 mirrorlike personas, Callandor is described as having a cutting edge as good as finely wrought steel. It wasn't blunt after all, even on the edge.
As I understood it, Sammael decided to keep the scar since it was a reminder to him.
Aes Sedai from the current age are unable to heal old injuries (excepting perhaps Nynaeve whose healing is different than normal). That's why Moiraine cannot heal Thom's limp.
Aes Sedai from the Age of...
What would have been devious is if she had added something to the wound with the True Power to make it so that normal healing could not heal it properly. That way, only she would have the ability to heal him later on.
Really? Really? 5 days go by and no one posts anything? I didn't mean to shut everybody up. Post. Enjoy yourselves. Half of you are more interested in sharing your own re-read thoughts rather than reading about mine.
I just wanted to make it very clear that I am not participating in any...
I'm thinking that I might just stop posting until after the final book comes out. I really don't want to read anything pertaining to it until I've gotten my chance to read.
Mackenzie Rose, this is a topic that had interested us for awhile. I don't believe the old thread still exists, but the answer to your question was never revealed to my knowledge.
Your questions basically is... Why is it that Lan could feel Moiraine's bond as per normal while using the Stone...
Yes, Yes... Calidan was right that the stilled ones were healed by Ashaman. I just didn't remember that part.
Kitan, the picture of the ferry looks great. Interesting that you would mention a ferry as I included a ferry in my D&D game last night.
Axis, I've got nothing to point to as proof of this, but it has always seemed to me that Breyan was a darkfriend from the get go. Perhaps one of those power hungry wives, pushing her husband to do wrong things. I don't really have anything to go on for that except that one would think that a...
Caliden, I haven't gotten that far in my re-read/listen. But from what I remember, Rand only stilled a couple of the Aes Sedai shielding him. He did not still every single Aes Sedai in that group. Secondly, of the Aes Sedai he did still, I don't remember them being healed of their stilling...
Midian, that's what I first thought about Ishamael's fires from within. In fact, I remember posting something about that very subject in an older thread. However, it isn't just some illusionary scare tactic from tel'aranrhiod. There are several instances where he appeared, and the flames have...
It's been a few days, and I've seen that Morrighan and Midian have responded, so I'll add my thoughts on Verin's parchments. I think both Midian and Morrighan have parts of the puzzle, but not complete. I agree with Midian that Verin's parchment is indeed some sort of Dark Prophecy. And...
