My question is based on that our average membership age is around 34. As the average age grows, so too does the difference between it and 18yo. If the age requirement to join is changed to 18 then it can be changed to any age deemed appropriate to make the entire community comfortable.

One further question: What is there to guarantee this age requirement doesn't keep getting changed? Will we be revisiting this topic again if it's decided content is only appropriate for 21yo+ or when people decide it's no longer appropriate for 40yo+s hanging out with 18yos?

+1 Places my teenagers and I frequent have an "required to be 13yo or parental consent" in their user agreement. Eta: my underage teenager, at least. Sorry, still in denial over here..

I don’t like having to include it either but they would know what to do if it does happen. I understand previous incidents weren’t reported, but at least it shows they have an ally if it does, is taken seriously, and dealt with.

Totally understand that, too. Fix the pervy behavior and remind Joe Gaidin he better keep the conversation public and rated-PG at best. We already have guidelines and consequences in place to handle icky or illegal behavior.

Besides the average age of our current community, could someone explain why this change was made? Seems like we’re excluding a significant demographic that even the show allows for. What teenager is going to ask their parent for permission and not simply find another community to participate with?
