I think this is one of the best changes they've made (saw first two episodes Monday). It makes the reason for Nynaeve's animus toward Moiraine concrete and personal, which is such a better reason than "vague backwoods superstition."
to be fair, while Moiraine doesn't correct Nynaeve's understanding of events, it's also totally within her character not to correct people's misapprehensions like this. It's possible the Tower was being classist, but given Siuan is Amyrlin and we know they're keeping her backstory.... seems more...
Oh for sure, they're being incredibly book-accurate here. I think they're just having to emphasize it to the viewing audience so much because Rosamund is right-- it is extremely rare to see 1) two people of the opposite gender who are 2) within the "half your age plus seven" age range and 3)...
IGN has a set of cast interviews on YouTube.
I transcribed it.
Two things: Barney makes a note that Mat comes from poverty, and Daniel emphasizes that Moiraine and Lan are very platonic. That's the third time in as many days this has been emphasized-- Rafe notes the Warder bond is usually...
I really, really love the pants everyone wears. Honestly, if you're going to adapt to TV a world full of powerful women who travel, fight, etc, having them all in dresses all the time just doesn't feel ... likely. Realistic, maybe. Why would Westlands women ride side saddle? Why would women who...
This is the best article I've read on the show, it includes some promotional photos of the Whitecloaks and Red Ajah that are pretty great. Written by a lifelong fan so there's no obvious book misunderstandings!
My favorite thing I learned was the makeup and prosthetics were so good they skipped...
Got a teaser looks at a bunch of shadowspawn. I'm even more thrilled with the way they've done myrddrall now.

She's also running around principally as "Lady Alys" who is at best a minor noble, not a possible Cairhienen heir.
The writer called it "mystic" and "mysticism," not Rafe. He's always called it channeling, so that's not something to worry about.
The costumes are better than what I was expecting from Isis-- I had *very* low expectations, and this has surpassed it. I think, based on the background landscape and how dirty Moiraine's dress has gotten, that the raggedy-ness might be partly due to this being post-Ways-travel. They've been on...
What kind of prep did you do to get into the headspace of your character for "Wheel of Time?"
A lot of reading.
Did you finish the series?
Oh, gosh no. That was a lot of books and I have ADD, so sometimes I'm reading, I'm just like, "Oh my gosh, I have to read that page again." But that's the...
