The mention of it in the Appendix is:
I wish we had more information about how the Essences are "bound together" into this symbol. Are the two 'pupils' two of the Essences, or do all ten create the surrounding eye and the pupils solely represent creation? I'm inclined to believe the latter...
I think I'm a close tie between White and Blue - it's a weird combination but they both fit me so well.
I took one of the quizzes and it sort of backed me up, the oder is about what I'd pick myself but I'm surprised I scored so high in Blue (and so low in Green!!)
Blue (100%)
White (77%)...
Personally, I'm not sold on Jasnah's theory - it sounds so good, and it fit together so well at the end of my first read-through, but there's still some things that I'm just not sure of. For example, Szeth says in the beginning that Voidbringers can hold Stormlight perfectly, which doesn't fit...
One thing that stuck out to me in this first part (forgive me if it was mentioned already, but I don't think it was) was the chasmfiends and their chrysalises - I believe it's Andolin that mentions it in passing in one of the first scenes with the Alethi on the Plains. What do they grow into...
It was not about LT - it was about Moridin - but this isn't because he merged with all of his past lives.
Rand consistently refers to himself in the book as being several hundred years old, but if he had memories of all his past reincarnations he would be basically infinite - not just his...
Great thought, and I agree. It's a cool switch, from hunting down and gentling male channelers to bonding/working alongside them, and logistically it makes perfect sense.
Fair points, and I agree - except for the fact that a massive, debilitating battle just occured that wiped out a massive chunk of the population as well as substantial resources. I don't see any of Randland jumping at the idea of more war any time soon unless the have to - especially since they...
Re: Rand's new body
I agree - Nynaeve is already so suspicious, and she's far from stupid. She already knows something's up because of how Elayne, Min, and Aviendha are acting. When "Moridin" turned up missing I don't think it'd take her long to put those pieces together.
I was inclined to think that her studies helped Rand, Moiraine, and Nynaeve develop their plan to have Moridin use Callandor so they could exploit the flaw. Not sure if the text backs that up or not, but she spent so much time on that part of the Karaethon Cycle and they mentioned it so often in...
Good question. I don't have my copy of AMoL with me, so forgive me if I mess things up. But if Bao the Wyld was supposed to be the Dragon Reborn/Car'a'carn/Coramoor/whatever other names he has, as I suspect, perhaps they'd be able to convince some (maybe even most) of the Sharans that Demandred...
I think Elayne will make a big push for the Kin, since she's worked so closely with them. I think the Tower would be able to come up with an agreement with them, though with Cadsuane as Amyrlin it's hard to say what that agreement would be. She's a reasonable woman and she'd at the very least...
Another that upset me a bit - at least, made me pause in my reading - was Romanda. She wasn't the most likeable character, but she was always there, and having her die so suddenly, almost as an afterthought, was tragic.
I think Egwene's talks made all parties involved see the wisdom in having ties among the groups - at the end of their meeting, I got the feeling that they all saw themselves coming out ahead, which is definitely a plus. Egwene's death and Cadsuane's rise to Amyrlin may hinder that some, since...
Better theory than I've been able to come up with, but I'm still not sure we have it right. What is the "Fallen Blacksmith's pride"? There's some connection between Perrin and the Broken Wolf, if he isn't the wolf, and I suppose Slayer has that connection, but most people didn't even know about...
:beer I remember you, as well - good to see a familiar face!
Thank you! I managed to find the avi I used originally, which was excellent as I'm very attached to it :)
I think that's exactly what it is - precisely because they are (assumed to be) better channelers than those of the Third Age, in his arrogance Demandred relates that to being better in EVERY aspect, not just in skill with the Power.
(Edit) He doesn't just do it with Lan - he struggles with...
Even though you could see Egwene's coming from a mile away, I just sat there saying no no no no no in my head the entire time - I didn't want her to die!! :( So yeah, it wasn't sudden or anything, but it still made me so sad.
Siuan's got me really upset, too, as she was another of my favorites...
