Kitan, have you ever watched A Knight's Tale? There's a scene in there where the group takes a ferry across the river to London.

[h=4]Terez[/h] Why did Moiraine's bond with Lan break when the doorway burned? Did she intentionally release it?
[h=4]Brandon Sanderson[/h] She did not intentionally release it. RJ has something about this in the notes, but I don't have the quote handy. It basically has to do with the severing of the link between worlds.
OK, another interesting question from my re-read: When Moiraine falls through the twisted stone doorway with Lanfear on the docks in Cairhien, everyone thinks she's dead. Even Lan can't feel the bond anymore and believes her dead. We find out later she wasn't dead, but transported to the world of the Finns. Why did Lan still feel the bond when she went through the twin stone doorway in the holding of the Stone of Tear in TDR?
That's true Toral Gaidin ... maybe destroying the one door also unintentionally destroyed the other.
Don't quote me, but I believe RJ has said that Moiranine was transported to the world of the Finns. That world is a different plane from randland, much like T'R'R and the worlds of the Portal Stones. So Lan's bond was broken by the fact that she was no longer in existence.
Also I just read about an aiel attack on Damira Sedai in Caemlyn and the result of this was that delegation falling apart and Rand distrusting the Salidar Aes Sedai. The tipping point for this was a small comment made by Verrin. Did she use her contacts in the Aiel Darkfriend community to cause this? I've often wondered why the Aiel would attack her for seemingly a random reason.
Actually Gundam, if you read the pre-released prologue of AMoL it gives some insight to who they were. They don't seem to be Aiel, but they're definitely not Fain's.
