For the last several years I have been supporting a local non-profit called ClimateRide. They are an organization which specializes in fundraising, teaching volunteers how to fundraise, and does bike-related events several times a year to raise money for their volunteers' preferred, climate-related beneficiaries. This year (this Saturday!), I'm doing a small, local ride (30 miles), and my beneficiaries are two local organizations (a bike shop and a compost org), as well as BeyondFistula. Here's a portion of my blurb from ClimateRide's website.
Is anyone else gearing up for an event soon, or are doing fundraising for a cause of your choice?
Freecycles is a community bike shop that teaches classes, provides education and assistance to cyclers, and also functions as a community space!
SoilCycle, Freecycles' next door neighbor, collects locals' compostable materials with volunteers - on bikes! They keep many thousands of pounds out of landfills each year and help we Missoulians to stay as green as possible.
BeyondFistula is the third organization I'm supporting with this ride. BF does absolutely livesaving and lifechanging work, as they provide surgeries for women who are suffering from fistulas in medically underserved areas. Women with fistulas are among some of the most discriminated against populations in the world, are often outcast from their communities, and cannot join society even to work to support themselves. Beyond Fistula repairs these medical problems and trains their patients to re-enter the workforce - and they focus on climate-supporting skills!

Right now, ClimateRide is in the position to match all funds donated, so your donation will have twice the power!
