Hello Everyone!
So, I've been trying to pluck up the courage to register here for a long, long, long, like long to an Ogier long, time. It's always looked like a wonderful, tight-knit community here which is amazing unless you're an anxious critter and then it's terrifying but I'm trying really hard to do things outside of my comfort zone so here I am, typing away thanks to the magic of coffee and adrenaline, whoo!!
Oh yeah, I'm an oversharer. Hi.
I first came to the books in the early 2000's when I saw the words "Daes Dae'mar" and wondered what it meant (in this case, it was the name used by a breeder of the same dogs, Japanese Spitz, that I grew up with) and I've been hooked ever since. I've lost count of how many times I've read the books but I'm hoping to hop on the community re-read (got a new Kindle for my birthday so loading it up and seeing "Prologue: Dragonmount" on there feels right).
Outside of WoT-related things, I love Formula 1, anything sparkly, knitting and Nanoblocks (like Lego but tiny). I'm mostly housebound because of illness which sounds sucky but I get to spend all day with the dog, my partner works from home (supervised by a chinchilla office manager) and while it's been tricky, especially over the past year, you can make a small space feel like an open world with a bit of effort. Plus, there's always Animal Crossing!
I can't think of anything else to say here, which is likely because the coffee has gone but I'm really happy to be here and look forward to meeting you all. If anyone has any questions or anything they'd like to know, please don't hesitate to ask but for now, I'm going to look around the rest of this fine forum and fix my empty cup situation.
