Ok, I know this has been done to death, but I didn't see anything recent and I've been gone a while, so shoot me or look away :p

The quintessential "Who would you like to see play the role of [insert WoT character] cast list. I have based my choices on actors who would be available today if they were casting for the role, so no dead actors or "would have been great if this was 1990" type of thing. Obviously the age of the characters they are meant to play is a factor here as they need to be able to pull of looking 17-20 old in most cases.

I will collect up all the votes (rather than make it into a poll with only 15 options) and update this post. Of course you can suggest your own choice and I will add these as well and if people want to change their vote after that, they can :)

Eddie Redmayne is my one and only Rand, and I'd love to see Bella Thorne as Aviendha.

I really like Keira Knightley as Egwene.

I really really like fancasting. :shifty

Pictures should hopefully be fixed now? I was messing about with the sizing so they wouldn't be HUGE.
    Thanks for your votes ladies!

I will try and hunt down a picture of Eddie and Bella and add them :)

Maria Schaporova for Aviehdha! Not green eyes (blue), but a very capable body ....
[IMG]Remember: "She had probably killed more men than he had seen dead" - Rand, in TFoH.

Nina Dobroy may be ok for Nynaeve, but searchig google I found that many people suggested Mila Jovovich - she'd miss her usual stunts, but she'd do quite well in the role.

Among the boys - well, I don't really care, Ryan Gosling comes close for Rand, Ryan Guzman would do as Perrin.

Thank Murun, you reckon Maria would be able to pull of the acting, being a tennis star 'n all?
Also, although Mila is an awesome actress, she's in her 40's now, would she be able to pull off playing someone in her early 20's?? I guess everything is possible in Hollywood ;)

I find it tough because I have certain people in mind for some roles (Kirsten Dunst as Elayne, for example) that have grown too old for the part since I started reading the series. That being said, my #1 pick for any part is and has always been Rufus Sewell as Demandred.

I know Caha, I have to admit I don't even know half the people up there, but had to go from a "actors under 30" list and went from there.
Thanks for the suggestion, the Forsaken will be next on the list and they should allow us a lot more lee-way when it comes to age :)

Who is this Ryan Guzman? **It's hot in here**turning up the AC**

I always of think of Kiera Knightly playing Min but Egwene works, too!

Yes, you are probably right with Mila Jovovich - I last saw her in resident Evil 2, but that's been quite some time ago.
As to acting - well, there are some basic skills most girls and plenty of boys have, it also takes some kind of humiltiy (so you do what your a** of a director wants), and stamina (to do it again & again & again). So much from my amateur actor's perspective ... - Anyway, for playing / embodying Aviendha, one should be phyiscally imposing, kind of triggering the fight or flight question that evolution has embedded in our brains. I haven't seen any of your candidates in movies, but judging from the pictures they are just too nice & pretty, they could sure get on your nerves, but would'nt go for your throat.

Might as well start adding them! And perfect choice as far as I'm concerned!

:lol I'm sure by the time an actual movie or TV series gets made, we won't recognise anyone in it anymore :p

I will add both your votes, thanks! :)

There are some quite interesting suggestions here - you may want to have a look. I especially liked Q’orianka Kilcher as Nynaeve - right age, dark eyes, braid ... perfect.

Kathy Bates for Verin. I am always torn when it comes to Cadsuane, Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren or Judi Dench.

Ah Judi Dench would be perfect!
She has just the right battleaxe attitude about her to pull Cadsuane off!
