Why is tower chat still IRC?

I am all for Discord. Would be OK with both Discord and IRC. I'm sad to see that there is no voice option. I've long wanted a more Tower-based arena for voice chat for gaming purposes and just hanging. It's a function that completely does not exist for the Tower for those of us who game daily and are fans of voice chat.

There are occasional open voice/video calls in G+ that various membership groups host. Hasn't been one in awhile. They're fun.

I think a voice chat option would allow for a greater inclusiveness and activity among certain segments of the Tower outside of events. It would also allow for the possibility of things like an actual Tower WoW guild, with voice servers and all.

No, just the web client we chose to use, and they're working on getting it un-listed. The sorcery.net server is still accessible by other means, like IRC Cloud or mIRC.

Nah, it seems like you can also go to(it works for me at least): http://sorcery.net and then press on "Chat now" in the menu there. There you will see this:

IRC, or Internet Relay Chat, is what we currently use as our chat program. Normally you can access it via the link at the top of the page (as a sub-category under the "Forums" link), but for now that's not working properly. In the meantime, you can enter our chatroom by visiting this website, entering your nickname, and using #wheel as the channel.
