Loyal - Everyone loves Loyal and he is incredibly solid and consistent.
My favorite character throughout the series is Egwene. I have a few close second favorites; Perrin, Rand, depending on which book it is. I like Perrin for the first few books, but after he gets married he gets a little boring to me.
My favorite would definitely be Perrin. He seems the easiest to realate to and that's what I like in a character. I'm about half way through the series and I'm hoping there's more of him to come because for a while you really don't hear of him much.
Egwene has always been my favorite female character, followed closely by Suian Sanche. Rand is my favorite male character. I like most of the other main male characters too, during the first three books, but I start hating Perrin soon after that
I would have to say that Egwene was one of my favorites. Aviendha is absolutely one of my faves. Mat too because he provides so much comic relief.
Without a doubt Mat.
Mat is my favorite character by far. Because he reminds me so much of myself! Always reluctant to do the right thing, but ends up doing it anyway with better results than expected! Egwene would be my favorite female character. She went from being a shy village girl to downright amazing!
When i FIRST read the series as a 16 year old, i LOVED Mat! and was disappointed because i dont think he was given enough attention! The part where he Screams in the OLD TONGUE for the first time outside of Shadar Logoth is chilling! i get excited everytime i read it! Rand is of course a favourite, although he becomes VERY frustrating ( at least in the first several novels ) because he just NEVER accepts being TA'vERN and doesnt embrace his future! I mean C'mon! after a while u HAVE to just say "Okay...This IS what it IS! Lets party!"
Now that i am older i LOVE PERRIN! i used to really think he was boring! and whiny! NOW i appreciate his deep thinking and all of his other inner turmoil! And the wolf stuff is cooler now to read about ! I HAVE aged 20 years since the first time i read the books! haahhha
As far as favourite background characters ...... Or MINOR ones anyway....... I Like Davrem Bashere for SOME reason! HAHAH OH and LAN is ALWAYS my fav too ( though not minor).. Loial is good , but NAH..Not my favourite either...Hmm....... lets see... my absolute FAVORITE secondary character is probably.......... a TIE! Between UNO...... and Mazraim Taim although i had JUST started to touch on Mazram I was very intrigued by him!
I HATE to admit this. I dont wanna be shallow...BUT.... through the first 4 books i really dislike almost ALL of the females. I start to like egwene a lot later... LOL and Avihenda too and Brigette? if she is in theb 4th? I really dislike Nynaeve , min, and elaine and egwene a LOT! hahahah ( i later like Egwene and Elayne a LIL more).. Its just that I understad that the Author wants to portray a strong female , BUT they are all so rude! why do they have to be RUDE, mean , and demean everybody to prove they are strong???
Moraine is the ONLY female in the first books that i dig on. she shows that she is strong YET elegant and NOT a turd to anyone! hahahah
EVEN Faile becomes a carbon copy! its like Jordan just makes MOST of his women the same. If they are "strong" then they are all the SAME in their strength. They are all Bullies! And THAT i dont like! LOLOLOLOLOL Any REAL woman knows that you " catch more bees with honey!"
Mat, Perrin and Rand, in that order. Yep, I like the Ta'veren. All the most interesting characters by far. Forced to mature faster than normal, and learning very quickly to get by. Mat is very impressive simply because of his fighting prowess, his inhuman luck, and the fact that despite his own opinions of himself, he knows how to handle women the best out of the three. Perrin, as many say, is the deep and introspective type, which makes him interesting, and the one with the most "wisdom" among men, and Rand...well...he's Rand!
Of the female characters, while Moiraine is quite intelligent, she's a tad too manipulative and cunning for my liking. I mean, being cunning as a fox and wise as an owl is great, but she shows it too obviously and is portrayed in a somewhat negative light in my opinion. Min is my absolute favourite of the girls. Egwene was sweet initially, but she quickly became full of herself. Nynaeve might have been nicer and more likable if she didn't get angry at everything. Elayne has looks but I don't find anything else about her that's appealing. And Aviendha...hmm...nope. Heck, even Selene (Lanfear) was more appealing...for a while. So yes, in the end, there is only Min. Min is my favourite, no doubt, no other comparison. Just Min. Even her name is appealing for some reason.
Sorry, wrong thread.
Haha, funny, Anika. I'd almost say random, but I know what a brainfart can be like.
And I have reached my 25th Post!
Also covered every discussion thread with my name. Yes, it almost looks like spam...
Library here I come!
Congrats! Have fun in the library. Our Librarian is totally righteous and wins all the things.
Anika sedai i agree! Daenerys! she is my favorite Heroine in any series so far! she You actually get to watch her grow and mature and watch her thought process get more refined.
Um now..back tpo our regularly scheduled Program.... Tee Hee
I have say Nynaeve, and maybe Min (she is the only one with common sense)
I'm only halfway through book 3, but at this point, I love Mat, Perrin (the whole wolf thing is super cool), and Siuan Sanche. Egwene and Nynaeve are growing on me, since they seemed a bit annoying and weirdly "if you don't do what I say I'm going to glare at you". I'm definitely liking them more, though, and I'm really like Elayne.
My favorite characters are tied between Mat and Thom overall, but in TGH it's definitely Uno. Flaming this and Bloody that, you goat kissing milk drinker!
I like Egwene and Rand. My favorite... haven't developed one yet.
I see the question asks for one character, but I can't do it
From the main characters: Mat and Elayne
From the others:
Vanin and Verin
The best scout Mat has is a horse theif who barely fits on a horse He also is sensible, funny and a awesome mentor to Olver.
I technically haven't finished the fourth book but I'm going to say Moiraine anyway. She is just that awesome.
I'd have to say Mat is my favourite character. Followed closely by Lan and Juilin.
