I think my question would probably be what death was the hardest to write.

Since almost nobody meaningful dies, the answer almost has to be Gawyn by default.

That would also be my answer, as in "Writing Gawyn's death in AMOL was very hard; I wanted my first contribution to the WoT saga in The Gathering Storm to be Gawyn's death so nobody had to hear from him again."

Totes agree with you about Gawyn and his stupidity, though. When he put on the ter'angreal ring, I was like, "Oh, you dumbass. Wait, you're gonna die. YES, DO THAT."

Gawyn dies? Who cares. I was more concerned about Galad dying. I liked Galad.

I'm guessing that Egwene must have been a challenge, although there were some sad deaths (Bashere riding to death with his wife, Gareth and Siuan).

I have a pet theory of it lasting as long as he really wants(I'm a fan of him being able to manipulate the pattern at will) but would like some clarification. I can see him living until the last of the three and dying with them peacefully.

My interpretation of Brandon's statement about the Epilogue is that he made extremely minor changes to the epilogue but it was otherwise RJ who wrote every scene of it.

I remember when ACoS first came out and people were claiming that RJ had made up Cadsuane because he realised he needed someone in the AS advisor role and he had written moiraine out. It seemed ridiculous at the time, but it would be nice if the scene with her in was written very early in the life of the series
