As the title says... what is your favorite volume from the series and why?
This has shifted for me. On my first reading it was The Great Hunt. Ingtar's betrayal stunned me yet seemed so realistic. Also the introduction of the Seanchan seemed critical and the legend of the horn being fulfilled through Mat. It seemed to set the agenda for so much of what was to follow. I'm only on volume 11 of my reread... but I think it will be Towers of Midnight.... which was probably my close second... as Egewene who has become probably my favorite character is at her height there.

I'm only on book 5 but for now my favourite is Dragon Reborn. I was happy to see Rand finally taking on his duty. When it comes to Egwene I have to say I wasn't sold at first but the further I get in the books the more I like her.

I think I have to say the last one. Most other books have good and bad parts. They are fairly few bad parts in the last book.
I also like Shadows Rising. It is where Rand is finally taking his place, and I LOVE the Aiel :D

Towers of Midnight are also quite good :pleased-1:

Or Knife of Dreams...

Actually, most of them are quite good :pleased-1: With the possible exception of Path of Daggers-Crossroads of Twilight...

I think I might be the only person that liked Crossroads of Twilight, but my favorite book of them all is the last one, though to be fair, I am more fond of Brandon's writing style. But Jordan's world is better than any other world I have ever read, including Mistborn, which is my favorite Brandon Sanderson series.

The Shadow Rising is an excellent book and also ranks hightly with me, Ana Gaidin. I suppose it would be easier to say that each of the volumes comprise a single, delightfully long book . . . that is one of our favourites.

Honestly, at this point WoT is one giant book for me, I've been reading it so long. It would be easier to tell what my favorite scenes are.

Yeah, that's the way I feel about it really.

While I do not have a favorite book (they are all good for various reasons), I would say that the big white book (The World of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time) and The Wheel of Time Companion can not be undervalued. They bring so much more information to the series and sometimes create more questions. (Got to be careful with my answers in the future. I am starting to sound like a Brown Aes Sedai!)

I love them all, but The Eye of the World is my sentimental favorite because it's the one that started it all.

For me, it's The Shadow Rising. With the slow build of Rand's plot arc, and the interspersed action of the two rivers campaign, it's one of the more action packed books with a lot of strategy and tactics.

My first reaction was The Shadow Rising (I audibly gasped at the Aiel reveal!) and I have favorite parts about each book, but I love the above answer about The Eye of the World. Talk about nostalgia - your comment took me back to 1996, when I became immersed and knew I was hooked forever!
