I am nearly done with Golden Fool by Robin Hobb and this book has made me want to strangle so many characters for their stupid choices
That is a common reaction to Robin Hobb's books, but they are also good enough that you want to keep reading!

Just finished re-re-rereading The Hero Code and The Wisdom of the Bullfrog: Leadership Made Simple (But Not Easy) by Admiral William McRaven (US Navy retired). Also just read My Share of the Task: A Memoir, Leaders, and Team of Teams by General Stanley McChrystal (US Army retired). Great books for those who want to learn how to be better leaders and even just better humans.

I'm going to eventually read the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black, but I was delighted to learn that her Modern Fairy Tales books were re-printed in 2020. I read them in the early 2000s when they first came out, and I LOVED them. So, I'm re-reading those as a pallet cleanser as I continue with Rhythm of War and Throne of Glass.

So much nostalgia for the fandoms I was in back then...

Jist finished Gardens of the Moon, so will start on the next two Malazan books soon. Also need to finish "Lord Prestimion" and some weird book Dovi lent me that I can't remember the name of. Also, am waiting on the library to get me a copy of Dune, and need to order "This Mortal Coil : A History Of Death" from the library again

I'm listening to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. A bit out of my comfort zone. Magical realism with some historical fiction and Faustian deals thrown in. Not my favorite, but it's pretty good.

It's a favorite of mine. It can drag in some spaces but in my opinion, really sticks the landing. I loved the end. Others may disagree though.

I finished it yesterday. I also wanted to let you know that "not my favorite" wasn't a couched way of saying "I hate this book." As I have done that before in cases where the books are incredibly popular. :look: I really liked the writing style, I loved the examination of art and artists. It was a genuinely good book. Just...not my favorite.

For the ending, I usually wait a little bit before examining a book, but work is slow.

I liked the ending too. I felt like, even though a story like this would have Addie and Henry together in the end, both curses broken, or would at least want that, what we got was better for those characters individually. Addie had spent hundreds of years learning to live with the conditions of her deal, learning to leave impressions instead of physical marks. And now, she'll use that knowledge to drive an immortal being insane until he releases her. And, Henry got the validation he was looking for, and a direction as well. There were a couple points that I guessed, but I couldn't guess where the ending was headed, and I liked that too.

"The Blackbird Oracle" by Deborah Harkness. This is the fifth book in what started as the All Souls trilogy* and I'm still wanting more.
* Became the TV series, "A Discovery of Witches".

Just started re-reading The Unseen Realm by Michael S. Heiser. It’s his academic book on the spiritual realm in the Bible.

I'm reading A Discovery of Witches for an actual physical book club where people are meeting in actual, physical real life to discuss a book! ::eek2:

That being said, I'm really enjoying it.

I love that series. Book Two is probably my favorite but the first three are all excellent and the fourth is also great. The fifth is...a bit disappointing but still worth reading. Anyway, you've got some great reads ahead of you.

Oh! I know it said it was part of a series, but I didn't realize there were that many! I'm really enjoying the academic atmosphere, and the world-building.
