Oh, I loooooved Cinder! I also loved that it had a lot of Sailor Moon references, along with the fairy tale elements. I need to reread it, and keep going with the series.

I'm reading Mystic and Rider by Sharon Shinn, first book in the Twelve Houses series. A good, solid, well-written fantasy that swept me along from the first page. I like this author. Her voice is very comfortable. I'm looking forward to seeing where this story will take me.

That sounds interesting. How many books are in the series?

Finished reading The One by John Marrs (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33287119-the-one) very good book, cant remember if i read about it here or elsewhere.

Now reading 'The Three Body Problem' by Cixin Lu. About 40% in and it's tough going, ill finish it but unless it drastically improves I wont be reading the rest of the series. Its interesting but not gripping.

I started re-reading Cinder last night, after a productive weekend! I'm not normally into sci-fi stuff, but it has enough fantasy and anime elements in it thatI'm okay with it. :) Still an awesome book.

I'm still bitter about never getting my written Cress shipping conclusion. Like, sure we all know what's gonna happen, but I want to see the happily ever after. :look

It doesn’t, though worth noting the other two don’t involve any of the same characters. Believe it or not, the consensus here in China is that it’s actually better in English translation than in the Chinese original. As you said, interesting, but not Hugo worthy

Gonna try occupying myself with The Silmarillion until a copy of Brandon Sanderson's The Final Empire is available.

I've read a few pages of the Silmarillion...it's soooo dense. :blink I would have to take notes, like I'm studying for a class if I ever read it completely. lol

I agree Leala, Silmarillion is quite dense. Very interesting, especially for someone like me, who are into history, but there are SO MANY people.... And way to many similar names :|

My goal is usually to remember what happens and not necessarily all the names. I don't even remember all the names from WoT :) Up to page 67 and the only recognizable names so far are Sauron and Galadriel.
