    Okay, let's talk warder cloaks!

What have you done to create that illusion of color shifting? I've seen some people use camo fabric because its camo and supposed to blend. For me, I really wanted it to actually appear to change colors.

So this is something I came up with last year for @Feros Sandulf as a cape to go with his Ren Faire armor. My next project is a full sized color shifting cloak for @Ty al'Djinn.

And because a picture doesn't do it justice, it does shift colors.

I imagined them more or less like that Roh Sedai! Except maybe a bit longer. So cool!

I had a prom dress that shifted between green and purple in high school :lol maybe not quite the same!

I would have to see if that fabric slightly reflects the colors of the world around it, if so then yes :D

I have actually always pictured a full sized cloak as well. But allwall wanted to see if it would even work before investing in that much material and time.

That is pretty nifty. Though, I could see something made with this, but only if it could lend to the Warder's stealthiness.

Strictly speaking I imagine in something Rorshach's mask, which isn't something we have the tech for yet :p

I love your shimmery interpretation, I personally like that better than a camo-print interpretation.

I wonder what could be done with multiple layers of different colored chiffon or mesh? Sortof how the big Cinderella princess dress in the new movie reads as magical / lots of shades of blue because there is So Much fabric in there in a bunch of colors (it's not just sheer blue, there is purple and green and a bunch of layers happening).

If I was to have Roh Sedai make another cloak for me I would do more layers and slightly different fabrics, more colors as well to really add more of that shifting effect we all picture in our heads.

That's pretty much how we did it, there was a layer of a shiny poly cotton at the bottom with black, brown, and green chiffons on top of it.

I love your cloak, Roh! That’s the closest I’ve seen anyone get to what I imagine.

    Yes, do share!!

Feros' cloak is awesome, and the photo does not do it justice. I also love the rooftop solar in the background of the video... You know you're in Jersey when... :lol
