I'm with Tehmpus.

The 2nd most powerful sa'angreal has been bugging the crap out of me for years. I'd really like an answer to that.

That about sa'angreals I forgot completely. I wonder if Taim has the other one.

I know it's nothing major, but I would like to see if Lan makes it. He was the first character to become real in my head; in EoTW, when he is rescuing Perrin and Egwene and Byar swings the ax at him, but Lan just casually leans to the side, I pictured that perfectly as if I was watching a movie, and in my head, Lan moved like my dad. He didn't look like him, but the movements were the same as I remembered of my dad's. Ever since, I have been rather attached to Lan, and I would really like to know if he makes it through the last battle safely.

1st. I'd like to know but don't expect to learn the story behind Cadsuiane and Norla the wilder who gave Cadsuaine her ornaments and taught her a lot. I forget the exact quote but it was something like she learned more from that wilder than anyone in the tower.
2nd. I'd like to know if Elayne's children are Shivan and Carlian the two heroes of the horn whose birth is supposed to herald the end of an age.
3rd. I'd like the situation with Birgitte and her relationship to the pattern now that she was torn out of Telarianrhiod to be resolved preferably with her becoming retied to the pattern and her meeting up with Gaidal
4th. I'd like to see reactions from characters who knew and loved her to Moraine still being alive but more importantly I want to see what important role Min's viewing foretold her having (Callandor?)
5th. Perrin's prophesied death it might be a simple as he will die fighting in the great battles to come and yet I wonder why we were told so bluntly told that he would die. Also it cannot be discounted that prophesy is often fickle and doesn't always mean what it sounds like it means (Bowing to the crystal throne Blood on the rocks).

Thetheroo, the 5th thing you were asking about has already happened. If you read closely, you'll see that what the Forsaken interpreted isn't actually what the prophecy was saying.
The last days of the Fallen Blacksmith’s pride shall come. Yea, and the Broken Wolf, the one whom Death has known, shall fall and be consumed by the Midnight Towers.
It says that the last days of his "pride" will come, not his last days. Also, the Broken Wolf ... whom death has known ... I believe is referring to Hopper, not Perrin at all. I mean Perrin hasn't known death in any way different than any other character in the book. Hopper on the other hand is already dead ... and Isam/Luc who make up Slayer being the "Towers" isn't much of a stretch either.

If Slayer does consume Hopper's soul, then he'll be forced to come back as a shadowbrother. A Hopper darkhound in the last battle will be pretty nasty.

That would happen if Hopper's was consumed by a Darkhound but Slayer isn't a Darkhound. A wolf soul killed in Tel'aran'rhiod is gone, never to come back.

Actually, it seems to me the broken wolf is Noel/Jain who fell to the "Towers of Midnight" inside the tower of Ghenji. He was broken by Moridin/Ishameal. Moridin MEANS Death in the Old Tongue

Maybe,

Dunno what link Jain would have to be called a broken wolf though. and the Midnight Towers thing being Finns is a bit of stretch too. Can't see how his death would "bring fear and sorrow to the hearts of men, and shall shake their very will itself" as most people think he's dead anyway.

Probably a bigger player than old Jain I should think.

Possible, but everyone does know who he is, I mean EVERYONE. And remember in the first book there was a man that entered a stedding. He looked like every bone in his body had been broken. That was Jain and it had been done to him by Ishamiel. Makes good sense to me.

Jack, I don't remember that at all. Can you please narrow down the reference? Thanks!

I *think* he means this one to be the relevant passage:

Chapter 42 said:
There was man came to Stedding Shangtai a little time back...He was at the point of death, though there was no wound or mark on him. The Elders thought it might be something Aes Sedai had done...since as soon as he was within the stedding he quickly got well..."

Yes that was indeed Jain. You're miss-remembering the broken bones part though VnMJack.

"Brief," he said as though wondering what it meant. "Yes. Well. Brief. There was a man came to Stedding Shangtai a little time back. This was not unusual in itself, at the time, since a great many refugees had come to the Spine of the World fleeing what you humans call the Aiel War." Rand grinned. A little time back; twenty years, near enough. "He was at the point of death, though there was no wound or mark on him. The Elders thought it might be something Aes Sedai had done" – Loial gave Moiraine an apologetic look – "since as soon as he was within the stedding he quickly got well. A few months. One night he left without a word to anyone, simply sneaked away when the moon was down." He looked at Moiraine's face and cleared his throat again. "Yes. Brief. Before he left, he told a curious tale which he said he meant to carry to Tar Valon. He said the Dark One intended to blind the Eye of the World, and slay the Great Serpent, kill time itself. The Elders said he was as sound in his mind as in his body, but that was what he said. What I have wanted to ask is, can the Dark One do such a thing? Kill time itself? And the Eye of the World? Can he blind the eye of the Great Serpent? What does it mean?"

Apparently sent there by Ishy in one his convoluted plots

"Other armies can be raised, fool. Armies you have not dreamed of will yet come. And you tracked me? You slug under a rock, track me? I began the setting of your path the day you were born, a path to lead you to your grave, or here. Aiel allowed to flee, and one to live, to speak the words that would echo down the years. Jain Farstrider, a hero," he twisted the word to a sneer, "whom I painted like a fool and sent to the Ogier thinking he was free of me. The Black Ajah, wriggling like worms on their bellies across the world to search you out. I pull the strings and the Amyrlin Seat dances and thinks she controls events."

Your interpretation is certainly possible he is the broken wolf.............. but one of many viable options and some of them more likely I think.

Yea, and the Broken Wolf, the one whom Death has known, shall fall and be consumed by the Midnight Towers. And his destruction shall bring fear and sorrow to the hearts of men, and shall shake their very will itself.

It's a weird one for sure, and I'm still not sure what my opinion is.

I guess I was remembering the broken bones because Matt made a comment just after he met Noel that it looked like he had had every bone broken at some point. Don't remember the exact line. This is the theory that makes the most sense to me. Rand is the "first among vermin", who will lift his hand to bring freedom to him who will destroy(darkone), Matt is of course the One Eyed Fool, and Perrin is the fallen blacksmith. You have to remember that this is a prophecy of the shadow. The shadow thinks Rand is vermin. Perrin is not "really" a fallen blacksmith, he just had more important things to do. Matt is pretty literally the one eyed fool though! Rand WILL break the seals and release the darkone, he must! But he will win too!

I don't remember them ever saying every bone. Just his fingers and nose a bunch of times.

Someone said, "Carridin." It was a scrawny, white-haired fellow lounging nearby in the shade. Mat looked at him questioningly, and he grinned, showing gaps in his teeth. His stooped shoulders and sad weathered face did not fit his fine gray coat. Despite a bit of lace at his neck, he was the very picture of hard times. "You asked who lived there. The Chelsaine Palace is let to Jaichim Carridin."

Mat’s hat paused. "You mean the Whitecloak ambassador?"

"Aye. And Inquisitor of the Hand of the Light." The old man tapped a gnarled finger against the side of his beak of a nose. Both looked to have been broken several times. "Not a man to bother unless you must, and then I’d think three times."

Unconsciously Mat hummed a bit of "Storm from the Mountains." Not a man to bother indeed. Questioners were the nastiest of the Whitecloaks. A Whitecloak Inquisitor who had a Darkfriend come to call.

I agree fairly likely with Rand, Mat and Perrin for first three. (although its not 100% cut and dry for First of Vermin, as if its Rand then he's be called two things if he's the vermin as well as the broken champ). Good chance of that being someone else.... Fain maybe?

(One interesting thing to note is the Dark One uses vermin as tools. (rats for his eyes and so on) may puts his view of the First of Vermin in perspective I think.

Most of it seems pretty clear apart from the Broken Wolf

Lo, it shall come upon the world that the prison of the Greatest One shall grow weak, like the limbs of those who crafted it. Once again, His glorious cloak shall smother the Pattern of all things, and the Great Lord shall stretch forth His hand to claim what is His. The rebellious nations shall be laid barren, their children caused to weep. There shall be none but Him, and those who have turned their eyes to His majesty.
In that day, when the One-Eyed Fool travels the halls of mourning, and the First Among Vermin lifts his hand to bring freedom to Him who will Destroy, the last days of the Fallen Blacksmith's pride shall come. Yea, and the Broken Wolf, the one whom Death has known, shall fall and be consumed by the Midnight Towers. And his destruction shall bring fear and sorrow to the hearts of men, and shall shake their very will itself.
And then, shall the Lord of the Evening come. And He shall take our eyes, for our souls shall bow before Him, and He shall take our skin, for our flesh shall serve Him, and He shall take our lips, for only Him will we praise. And the Lord of the Evening shall face the Broken Champion, and shall spill his blood and bring us the Darkness so beautiful. Let the screams begin, O followers of the Shadow. Beg for your destruction!

Thanks.

Rodel Ituralde is known as The Wolf.......... its possible it might mean him. I guess his destruction might be large enough to "shake the will" etc.

He's not a super large player, so I'd be a little surprised to see him prophesy, but its one to consider for the options I guess.

Could be almost anyone really, its a bit of a vague wording.
