Things I seem to have missed

So, here I was, reading random articles at http://wot.wikia.com when I stumbled upon The Drinking Game. I realized (without drinking) that I did not recognize several things listed. They were:

  • Birgitte gives Nynaeve sex tips (cannot remember ever reading about)
  • Somebody other than Rand, Lews Therin, or a Forsaken shows suspiciously advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, or mechanical engineering. (In one of the earlier books Nynaeve uses a crowbar to pry open a door inside the White Tower, and elongates the crowbar to gain greater force, but that is the only example that comes to mind.)

Please, help me with further examples. I feel stupid for not paying attention while reading...:embarassed:

I don't remember the first, but I don't think elongating a crowbar shows advanced physics knowledge, even personal experience will teach people that. But I'll be paying attention to see if I do come across anything

The Nynaeve bit with the crow bar is valid for the era. Knowledge of levers, fulcrums, and force, to move a object would be needed for their level of technology. Especially given how many of their large cities and structures are made in stone. So that I wouldn't call knowledge of anything super advanced. Those basic principals have been around for almost 5-10 thousand years in our world (Depending on if your talking to the crazy haired Ancient Aliens guy from the History Channel).

Aludra and her dragons would require some pretty good mechanical engineering skills.

Also, whoever it was that made the steam wagon at Rand's school.

True Moleman, but at the same time it makes sense for both of them. The man that made the steamwagon had been working with similar things as a merchant earlier, and simply had a creative mind. Aludra had grown up knowing of fireworks and their abilities all her life, and likely had been thinking of a way to properly project them at an enemy ever since the Guilds were first attacked.

Well The cannons Aludra has made is actually not that far in advance of their over all technological state either. At least when compaired to the real world. The first Firearms known to have been invented was created in China in the 1200's.

Here is a example.
