Yes, that is true. But it doesn't help that she has such a spoiled dad and no one can tell him anything, either. And sister, for that matter

Double post but I just finished the part in the audiobook where Isabella and Mr. Woodhouse literally talk the whole chapter about their doctors. I feel so bad for John Knightley. At the same time, it does show how good-natured Emma and Mr. Knightley are, though, because they are constantly defusing the tension.

    :rofl yay congratulations!!

I think we have Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and Lady Susan left. Shall we do P&P? Do you have any strong desires?

Okay! Our next Great Austenathon book is Pride and Prejudice!

There are SO many film adaptations for this book. So many. I'm not going to find covers for them all, but I will list some here... but seriously there are probably dozens more than this. :look

    1. 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice (mini-series)
    2. Pride and Prejudice 2005
    3. Bride and Prejudice
    4. Lost in Austen
    5. Pride and Prejudice 1940
    6. Pride and Prejudice 1967
    7. Pride and Prejudice 1980
    8. Furst Impressions (Wishbone) :look
    9. Bridget Jones's Diary
    10. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (webseries)
    11. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
And about 1 million other adaptations in both tv and film that you can easily find out there. :lol

    Reading begins... now! :joy

I work from home and usually have The Office or Friends rolling in the background, this would be a nice change of pace

The 2005 P&P on Netflix (if it's still there) cuts the US ending.

It was actually just put up - what is the US ending?! (Because when he's kissing her and calling her Mrs. Darcy it literally killed me. I'm actually dead right now. I'm writing to you from the grave.)

I believe the US ending ends with them staring into each other’s eyes? Maybe a kiss. No talking. Or maybe I’m not remembering right. :p

That's the part that wasn't there the last time I saw it on Netflix. I really felt like it was a nice addition to sort of wrap up the story.

He asks how she's doing and calls her my dear and she says don't do that and he asks what he should call her and she gives him a list.
