How is everyone doing? I just finished this today. I listened to a wonderful audiobook version and it just flew by. All the times I have read S&S it has never been a favorite, but for some reason listening to the audiobook made me appreciate it so much more. It's definitely jumped in my estimation. :)

Yes, me too!! Who was the narrator for yours? I used a library copy and they only had an old one ready by Flo Gibson (Recorded Books), but I really liked it.

I was surprised how much more I liked the book this time around.

On to the movie versions! I started the old BBC one ... ... ...

I listened to this version on LibriVox. :D The narrator was Elizabeth Klett, who I used to follow in the knitting world when she had a blog by the name of Gloriana. I dunno if she still does the blog... but I remembered she narrated a bunch of books on LibriVox so decided to give one a try. She is fantastic! I really recommend her Jane Austen recordings.

Um yeah, I lost track of this and I don't think I'm going to finish my 6/6 Austen books for the year :\

Should we continue to do this? I don't mind putting it off for a while until next year.

    Great!! Which book is next?

I think we have Emma, Mansfield Park, and Pride & Prejudice left!

Do you have a preference? I was thinking Emma or Mansfield Park but I'm really up for any.

I hope it gets a good reception so they renew it for season 2!!

I never read the story at all, but I enjoyed the series.

I'm on chapter six now. Audiobook for me as well.

I have many classic novels read by Juliet Stevenson. I especially enjoy her reading Emma as I always picture her as Mrs. Elton :lol

I believe this will be my third time reading Emma. Second time listening. Might be fourth. It's not one of my favorites, but it is funny :lol I love Austen humour.

    ETA spoiler tags. Sorry :look

How are y'all doing with Emma? :D I am on Volume 2, Chapter 11. It's so good! my gosh Emma is such a spoiled brat, and Frank Churchill is quite a jerk. :lol

:lol I don't find Emma as much spoiled as just ignorant about the world and used to getting her own way. She's not completely selfish. Mr Knightley is definitely good for her.

I watched the new movie! Liked it a lot. Mr. Knightley was swoon-worthy.

I hope I get to see it too ^^

Agreed on the ignorant part. She's not spoilt rotten but I think she is spoiled in the way that no one (except Mr Knigtley) let her know when she is wrong and everyone let her get her way.
