Any fans of the First Law-series here?

I really like the inworld mythology and I love books where no one is the good guy, or the bad guy.

I made this thread because we're getting a new enstallment to the series next month; "A little hatred". Anyone else looking forward to that one? Where do you think the story is going?

As we know from the introduction to the book the industrial world has come to Adua. Do you think this will make the new trilogy different from the others? I see it as Mistborn era 2 :horsey
(The change I mean, I don't think it will be cowboys and gunslingers, but I really have no idea yet.)

Which new and returning characters are you most excited about?

I loved the First Law looks, Sand dan Glokta was one of my favourite characters, in fact one of my favourite characters in lit. The layers he has, he is like a giant onion!

Sand dan Glokta is an amazing character! I listen to the audiobooks, "his" voice is SO good!

Finished "A little hatred" yesterday. Anyone else read it yet?

Agreed! I'm on chapter 17 right now. So I'm working my way through it.

I’m about half way through Book 1. Actually just started Part 2.

And I wanted to ask..... does it get better?

So far it’s been just a bunch of characters who admittedly seem quite interesting just mulling around doing stuff all.

When does the “plot” kick in?

    Know what i mean?

I am a little Bayazed here to be honest, Axis Gaidin :giggle I love this series. "The Blade Itself" is Abercrombie's first so it may suffer a bit from that and is character driven. To me the plot is good but might take a while to get there as the characters don't really know what's going on themselves.

I don't own a physical copy, I just realized when I wanted to check what's going on at the start of part 2, but I think some characters are still to be introduced/fairly recently introduced. So it's still working it's way together if you know what I mean.

This series is mostly character driven as a whole I would say. I don't want to give any spoilers so trying to be careful here but I at least think it's worth it in the end. The first trilogy must be seen as a whole.

Hope this made sense, that you stick with it and end up liking it ^^
