Tagging Members

So, is there any way that we could create a feature that if you post in a board and tag a member, they would get an alert? Not sure if this is feasible or even desired. Just an idea I had and it could help people keep in touch with each other if they post in a forum.

You can always use the search function periodically to check if someone was talking/quoting/mentioning you. I do (I search for Kern* so I see lot of stuff about popcorn and such too :P)

That's cool, I was just wondering. I usually am able to keep up, but sometimes I post in so many spots, I can't remember where I posted last. I usually just use my profile name at the top and look at my recent activity! Thanks for the answer!

I think you actually need to subscribe, it doesn't even automatically add the ones you created, there's a tick box during creation you need to tick.
But yeah I use this option a lot to check on the threads I want to keep up with most

I was just going to say that, Nya. I never had to subscribe manually - it gets subscribed automatically as soon as I make a post in that thread. If I don't, it doesn't.

It looks like I'm subscribed automatically to any thread I post in, but I don't receive notifications unless I check the box.

I sometimes choose to subscribe to threads on the phone that I haven't posted in (to remind me to do so later on the pc or iPad). Which brings me to my other point, if you are using the mobile version of the site Ixi then you won't have a subscribed threads feed (though threads you've posted in will show up with a green tick in the new posts feed)
