In honour of joining the site, I'm starting at WoT bk1 Eye of the World...going to see if I can catch up with the re-read group (currently on bk7 I think). And simply because I havent read the whole series for a cpl of years :-)
Anyone want to join me?

Yay! I'm already part of the reread so I can't join you in catching up but I'm glad you'll be doing it! I look forward to seeing you in the reread threads soon. :D

You know... I think I'll join you. I'm almost done with Way of Kings, and since there won't be any new books available any time soon... It will be fun. :pleased-1:

Yay thanx Theolyn Sedai. I read the first cpl of chapters last night. Figured I'd just read a few chapters then read some of the reread groups comments for those chapters. Maybe add a cpl of my own. But it will be great to have someone to share the ride with wahoo

Fair warning - there are spoilers for the entire series in the reread thread, even in the early books. :eek

Just remember that any re-reads should be in the book 1-14 forums, since they will naturally contain spoilers ;)

This thread is in the book 1-4 forum. Which means that you can't discuss or mention anything that happens after book 4, Shadow Rising.

I can move this thread to the 1-14 book forum if you wish, or you could just start a new thread in that forum when you start the reread...

I think the old re-read threads are still around, feel free to post in them if you have any thoughts that didn't come up before

So I finished book 1 Eye of the World & have just started bk2 the Great Hunt. The first time we meet Aes Sedai &Warders...before anyone knows what they are... really made me smile with anticipation for the entire story yet to unfold
Ch1 p26
"When he had heard she had called Nynaeve a child, he had pictured her as old, but she was not. At least, he could not put any age to her at all. At first he thought she was as young as Nynaeve, but the longer he looked the more he thought she was older than that. There was a maturity about her large, dark eyes, a hint of knowing that no one could have gotten young. For an instant he thought those eyes were deep pools about to swallow him up... She held herself with grace and air of command that made him feel awkward and stumble footed"
Ch1p29
"As she left, a tall man Rand had not noticed before moved away from the front of the inn and followed her, one hand resting on the hiltof a sword. His clothes were dark grayish green that would have faded into leaf or shadow, and his cloak swirled through shades of gray and green and brown as it shifted in the wind. It almost seemed to disappear at times, that cloak, fading into whatever lay beyond it. His hair was long, and gray at the temples, held back from his face by a narrow leather headband. That face was made from stony planes and angles, weathered but unlined despite the gray in his hair. When he moved, Rand could think of nothing but a wolf.

Oh yes, I love the start of the series, looking back at it and knowing what comes next. All these first impressions are so fun to revisit!

So I've just finished bk2 The Great Hunt.
I know I've thought this on previous reads...it feels like there shld b an extra chapter or two, or RJ couldnt decide where exactly to split this book with the next one... everyone is running around doing something, then they've almost all gone elsewhere except one or two...I guess I want more from the other characters' perspectives. Or at least more of an overview on how Falme fared

Wow, you're fast. I'm still stuck at the book 1, mostly because I read before bedtime and my copy is falling apart, so I can't read it in bed... Does that even make sense? :look: But I'll get there! :tug

As for the transition - that was how I felt, too. So much happens in the final chapters of The Great Hunt, and then suddenly they're somewhere else almost as if nothing happened. :scratch
