My issue with premade questionaires are that the answers are premade and defined as well...which means I end up struggling with trying to find an answer that fit. Or in things of complexity like picking out one personality you like better then others from a book, movie etc, because who you would prefer would depend on mood, situation etc

I am very nitpicky on some things like today looking for shoes, finding someone with color combinations that also sits the way I want on the foot, along with not weighing too much, beeing somewhat water resistant, having decent grip, looking like they will last more then one season and not emptying your wallet - lets just say I came home without shoes today, I know what I want...the issue is just shoedesigners wanting to do all kinds of fancy things and not producing the shoes I need and want *nods*

And that's why I got issues with questionaires, the answers dont fit the question for me in most cases. Or they ask you to scale things without defining the scale... that's bound to not work, because everyone will interpret the scale differently...and they will then interpret the answers based on their unknown defination of the scale, and what they lay in the answer may not be what you meant :D

As long as its something I care about, I got no issue having an opinion or make a descisions..its an intregral part of my office rat job, it just need to be informed descisions..and yes my favorite subjects in school was math and science...stuff like book and poem analysis and such where the worst, way to subjective, I could never crack the code...

So what was it you wanted to know?

I’m also a math science person who hates the subjective “reading analysis” type things. I’m also pretty literal so all the “the author was portraying” topics just made me grrrrrr. Because usually the author had been dead for decades or centuries and there is no way they know what they were actually thinking. (Not that I’m overly passionate about that or anything).

I have such a hard time with questions that as you to scale something. I think the Myers Briggs quiz or something similar was set up entirely that way, and I knew the result wasn't going to fit me because I really struggled with the scale. So I'm with you on that.

Also, office rats unite!! :love :ha:

Lol I know right, cause I been to courses that do those type of tests with an instructor going through it, and it makes a world of difference when you get detailed explanation on how to fill them out.

Unless there is written records from credible sources where they said that's it, then its speculations based upon what we know of their lives and the time they lived in, and how it compares to other works from said time. And then factor in that often history and interpretation of it has been written down by select groups of people, its becoming more and more subjective and grey area, and how do one relate to that eons after the authors dead...cant exactly ask them for the correct answer.

Good to hear its not just me 😅

Like I just some weeks ago tried a questionaire one of those that will group you and no matter how I tweaked it for variance in answer it gave me the same defination - and based on description I just knew it was the wrong one and not a good fit, so just gave up

Google is your friend I guess originally, I became aware back in the day looking for news and more stuff about the books.

I descided to join because life is hectic, and I miss being more social, but there just isnt enough time to go out and meet people, or maybe l just got less energy as I am getting older to do so 🙂 so it seemed a good idea to try this out.
