As for the cloths - I loved they incorporated crow feathers into his cloths, since we didn’t get to hear about crows being shot on sight. It felt like a nice touch.

I need to rewatch it, but I thought he said something about “as long as the hawk flies in Fal Dara” and it reminded me of the Golden Crane of Malkier. I thought “oh that’s why it looks like he’s sprouted wings, like a hawk is part of his house sigil “.

Very Tam. Also I really liked the Golden Bees of Illian on his breastplate.

Totally missed the bees. Must rewatch!

After having just watched the intro...why isn't she wearing a veil? The whole scene is awesome, but this vexed me so hard that I had to pause and vent here before watching the rest of the episode ...

Omg such a great episode! The one main thing I'm not connecting is what Min said to Rand "Rainbows and Carnivals and three beautiful women". I get the 3 women part but the rainbow and carnival has stumped me. Can anyone explain? Also her vision of Rand holding a baby, is that a nod to his future twins?

Ohhh flashbacks to Rand channeling so utterly well done. I'm looking forward to them catching Fain.

Regarding the carnival bit - clearly this is a sign that they will in fact be showing the most important and widely loved sequence in the books: Valan Luca's Circus. And what's more, Rand will be there as well, juggling the seals of the Dark One's prison.

I had a really tough time watching this episode, but they really nailed the ending.

I know things have to change in an adaptation and I've been trying to watch the entire show as a different weaving, but ... I don't know.
I just could not stop thinking about all the things that were so very different from the books. (No veil during the fight, the black wind, the encounter with a trolloc in the ways, loial vanishinging after reaching Fal Dara, Moiraine sending the reds after Mat, the entire fight scene between the Two-Rivers five/four now, the really bad greeting the group received by Agelmar, not ride into the Gap coming, ....)

I always found it weird that Moiraine never know the exact age of the dragon, but now we see the dying prophecy was changed into a Min viewing. I'm okay with that, as with Rand and Moiraine going alone into the Blight (what happened to no touching of anything in there btw?)

Sorry for the rant, I really want to like this show, but I'm struggling :s

Like @Kranerian Vrammar said, I would assume Valan Luca as well, and rainbows probably means Aes Sedai re: their colors.
I would have liked, hm. Just a tiny speck of something in Min's eyes that showed us that she was one of those three beautiful women. Just a lil sumpthin. I like Min, she's enough how I pictured her. Fine with how she's introduced to us. I'm fine with Fal Dara.

Fine with Moiraine sending the Reds for Mat, he ends up at Tar Valon anyway, why not.

Nynaeve and Lan - yes. Glad they sped that relationship up and glad that pre-marital sex isn't some kind of sin. People are doin it like bunnies and I'm here for it.

All of Rand's backstory is great, lots of nice details with the Aiel, love the fight scene, my heart hurt for Tigraine.

I'm sure they'll all catch up. Maybe even Mat. He has the horses, after all.

Too much talking for me, I thought they would be halfway through the Blight by now. We can walk and talk, people.

Oh also, Pegwene? That was unnecessary.

She is, in the first part of the scene. She unveils when she is originally settling in to give birth, and then it appeared did not have time to reveil/they didn't want to hide her face and therefore her pain as she is fighting and experiencing labor pains.

I really loved how they showed Min's visions and especially how they 1) kept in the vision of the sparks of Light fighting against the Dark and 2) expanded that vision to include Egwene and Nynaeve as well. I also adored Min's snarkiness and her interactions with Moiraine. I was very confused about her vision about Tam. Was she saying that she was in Tar Valon during the Aiel War, and she saw Tam there with lil baby Rand? (And just as a note, @Jandar D'Alpelk, I don't think that Min vision [although I also found it confusing] was intended to replace the Foretelling that Moiraine and Siuan saw--Moiraine references a Foretelling by an Aes Sedai in an early episode, and either Moiraine or Siuan [don't remember which one lol] specifically mentions "Gitara's vision" in the Moiraine/Siuan scene in episode 6.)

As a rare person who doesn't care for Min in the books, I found her current portrayal more interesting to me than I expected. Maybe she'll grow on me thru the showing she didn't thru the books.

Min had her first viewing at 12 in the books, so it still tracks.

She did. She had a black veil, and she only removed it when she had trouble breathing because of the birth. Then the soldiers started arriving.

I really liked big chunks of this episode, especially the intro with Tigraine and how they've sped up Lan and Nynaeve's relationship arch. It annoyed me in the books how long that took, and I think they've been able to subtly show that both her and Lan are in many ways defying the cultural expectations by going into this thing they¨re having. I also really really liked Min. She is a few years older than Rand in the books as well, but for her to remember seeing him as an infant in Tar Valon she must be, what, at least 6 or so years older?

One thing I did not particularly care for is Rand and Moiraine going to the Eye alone. Sure, it fits with their nature and all, but how are they going to survive in the Blight without Lan? Moiraine is strong in the book, but I feel like in the show she is very much stronger/even more skilled and I am not sure I like it. One of the things I always really liked about Moiraine was how she is this incredibly strong, incredibly wise, incredibly skilled person who's still learned to realize fairly young (y'know, after certain ponds and all of that) that she can't do everything alone and has no qualms about allowing others to help her.

So Moiraine thinks everyone going to the eye might die unless they're the dragon and she's just been told that the woman she loves is going to betray her, I don't find it that strange she would go alone (well, with Rand) and risk her life, to be honest.

Actually, they had both the viewing AND the prophecy. The prophecy was mentioned last episode.
Also, she does know the age, because last episode she clearly said Nyneave was a bit too old, thus excluding her.

Well, not betray her, exactly. Just be her downfall.

It does make sense, but it still annoys me :indifferent: :P. But I have a feeling Lan and the others are going to come chasing after them, so I am not too worried about it tbh.
