Sometimes it's fun to read books around the same time as others, so I thought I'd throw this thread up. I don't really have the time to run a book reading challenge like I would love to do (and have probably failed doing in the past :look) but since I'm starting this book I thought I'd see if anyone else was reading or has read it too! If not it can just be a discussion topic etc.

I've heard a lot of good things so I was excited when someone sent the book to me in a book exchange recently. It's a science fiction debut and it plays with gender. I've really been wanting to sort of expand my reading boundaries for awhile now and I think this will be a good book for it. I've heard very good reviews from a lot of people I like, both personally and y'know, the famous author types. I'll read the first few chapters and make a new post with my impressions and thoughts!

I have two books on my next up list to read, but I'll definitely be adding this. If I can get a hold of a copy I might read it after I'm done with Words of Radiance. It sounds right up my alley :D

I finished Words of Radiance last night so I'll go ahead and order it today or tomorrow. Unfortunately my bookstore doesn't have it.

I've been wanting to read this ever since I saw a feature on io9 about it, unfortunately I bought loads of books for my kindle and I feel I should finish them first >_> It is definitely next on my to buy list though.

Right after I get through the Fell Sword and whatever else I accidentally start reading next...

Lia, my copy came today! I'm finishing up a book right now but I'll definitely start it by early next week at the latest. I may start it this weekend, depending on how much I read.

So far I'm enjoying the book. I can tell it's well written, the story is interesting and the fact the MC can't tell when humans are male or female is really well executed. It hasn't thrown me out of the story at all. I think that there is a good balance between learning the worldbuilding bits and the drive of the story. I'm enjoying myself and looking forward to the rest but all of the buzz means I'm also paying way more attention and is giving me big expectations. I do have a hard time picturing the MC though. And I can't even tell you her/his/its name either :look

Breq! So I, uh, finished this yesterday... I really enjoyed it! The gender thing is entertaining in a way. I'll wait to say more until you read more though. Oh and I also liked the switching timelines, it was really well done.
