For me, it's Perrin chasing after Faile through the snow. Uuuughgghg.

Any parts you're not looking forward to?

Ugh, Elayne's pregnancy. She's awful. However, I can kind of understand since she's not getting real food.

It's not so much her pregnancy, but too much detail (a general fault of all later book :look:) and her mindset... Like Nynaeve reflected once: "No wonder she thought the world revolved around her. She had grown up learning that it would, in a place where it did" (Or something like that...)

But Elayne is still better than Perrins "Must get Faile back, but I can't" story arc...

Everything with Cadsuane.

Cadsuane is probably my least favorite character in all of fiction, with the exception of Sauske Uchiha.

Yup. Perrin/Faile/Shaido stuff. :indifferent: And the whole thing with Faile and Berelain. :facepalm And Faile refusing to talk to Perrin for no reason that he can decipher. :rolleyes

Cadsuane helped Rand in the end but I still think of her as a villain. Even when re-reading the series I can't help but think "she has something up her sleeve" every time she does something!
I'm not sure if I just have a suspicious nature or if people should be more suspicious of Cadsuane! :D

The parts with Perrin and Berelain annoy me more than Perrin chasing after Faile!
Part of me is just thinking that Faile does not deserve to have her husband chase after her so fixedly -- she does not even trust him!
I liked Faile way back in books 3 and 4 but after that her jealousy gets upsetting and pointless.
I NEVER liked Berelain...

It is not even her attitude that I hate, but when she shows up..I will cover exactly why I hate her and why she is my poster girl for writing a "strong" female character in the exact worst way possible.

I discovered something odd. Even though I detest the whole Perrin/Faile/Shaido arc when I re-read, now that I'm listening to the audio books I found it dragged a whole lot less. Maybe that's just where I have to say "kudos to the narrators" for keeping it interesting

Elayne is still just as much of a pain though, regardless of the great narration :indifferent: "Oh blah blah, Rand got me pregnant, it's all his fault, I'm such a poor soul..." Oh grow the heck up, you goose-necked ninny! Interestingly, Gawyn is also still as annoying as heck, though he is voiced so well. Maybe it's something about the Trakands :p

I'm not particularly looking forward to Aviendha going back through the pillars the other way (seeing her future) as a few of the scenes make my heart hurt :( I can't imagine that hearing them read out is going to be any easier :look:

The Sea-Folk, Karede, Ituralde, and other random and incredibly boring people. Y'know, the miscellaneous people in prologues (that were probably important). The prologues were always hard to read, maybe because of the length. As many others have said, I am not anticipating Cadsuane, either.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had trouble getting through the prologues.

Elayne in Caemlyn is interminable. I know Morgase left her with a mess, yadda yadda, but it takes her, what, 3 books to sort the damned situation out? The more I re-read the books (I'm on my second "re-listen" too), the more I find that I can't stand any of the Trakands.

I find it interesting that some people dislike Cadsuane so much. I positively adore her. :cheeseeni:

I'm ahead into WH now and the Perrin-Faile rescue drama has started in earnest. Already wishing someone would kick Perrin in the butt.
