Its based on a true story "U.K. gay activists work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984."

So like Milk its showing a piece of history. I sugested it, I seen Milk a few times, but not this one and figured it might be of interest for more people.

Noted, and thank you for the feedback, as not an excuse but an explanation of why not is that this wasnt planed weeks ahead but came together sort of last moment, after I checked if anyone was doing something we could maybe hook ourself onto, just to find there wasnt like the last day of may or the first couple days of june (dont remember exactly). Which is also why we posted a challenge here

So our focus wasnt intended too not have representation as much as probably partly driven by my idea of doing two shows was taken over by a focus on making sure to find movies avaliable across the services we had, taking into account that not all servies show the same movies in all countries, and then lack of filters and geting overwhelmed trying too google and cross check what was screened where...plus needing too get a vote up fast so could get to find a movie and have time for a discussion after for a couple weeks (which basically in terms means chaos selection).

However I think the idea is great and ideally too build on that, I think the best idea would be not too just have a diversity vote, but having several screenings throughout the month over several subjects next year, so we actually had diversity in screening movies rather then just diversity in a vote, and then do votes for those, so maybe a vote for a sapphic movie, a vote for a trans movie, vote for a uranian movie, vote for an overall documentary of history, and so on and forth.

But think that would probably need more planing ahead of time (with less chaos involved, me and impulsivity equals a high chance of chaos during the process, I can plan but then need time to plan too plan so can plan well), that does not mean its too late for there too be a lesbian or too extend on that a sapphic movie even, and I think thats a great idea, maybe something the Red Ajah could do? It wouldnt need too be by vote even, just choose a good movie and put in on for next week sometime (thats what I plan to do with Pride if it doesnt turn out to be tonight movie, cause I want too watch it and would love too have company if others are interested).

And question - I haven't done a movie night with the community yet. Fire Island is looking like the winner, and I see that it's actually on Hulu for me, instead of Disney.

Is it ok if I share my Hulu watch party link with the group? It appears Hulu does not allow me to share the movie with non-Hulu people. Is everyone used to it being shared for them, or do we do watch parties?

Oh I didn't expect there to be a change since the poll closes in eight hours or so but more remarking on the lack of lesbian movies but also other parts of community. It would be a great discussion to be had next year about representation in media in film, television, and novels. I don't currently have the time to cross reference things and will be sparse because of family coming to stay for about a week but if planning begins earlier for next year then there is a wealth of other discussions that can be had here on the forums so Discord is not the only outlet. Things for next year!

Most definantly I just assumed since it was ran last year that someone was in charge, then realized ok TI awards behind us, and had been thinking we need something new to do in intiates, then sudenly it was june and I was ok pride whats going on for pride, maybe we can help out there somehow...oh nothing? ok now we definantly need to do something..and sort of just went from there

I have several other ideas too I would love too see happening, but just dont feel I got the energy too do it all myself, so from asking the other intiates if we could do something, this sort of what we managed too well do so far. However June isnt over yet, so not too late for more stuff too happen. And I know Vivara, thank you for steping up and helping with this despite the chaos agents I tossed into this lol.
