In light of the difficult covid situation in India, with a new covid variant and surging cases, please join the Yellow Ajah as we come together to raise funds for various organizations that have requested donations from all over the world. As of 5/3/21, we have raised a total of $80.36 (USD) for the following organizations:​

1. Athrout x Kashmir Box: providing daily rations AND medical supplies to Kashmir that is systematically underfunded and neglected, and currently has a ban on most NGOs ability to receive foreign funds. Athrout has found a fantastic workaround in a time of dire need.

3. Adventures Without Boundaries Foundation: organising vaccination access and support for folks with disabilities across Mumbai

4. People for Change: battling hunger through daily rations to the trans community and sex workers in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Sex workers are battling a complete loss of income, high HIV rates that increase susceptibility to the virus, and so many other challenges right now, these are folks we really want to rally for!

5. Khaana Chahiye: distributing meals to the most vulnerable in the city of Mumbai. Has distributed 60,000 meals so far in this phase of the lockdown.

6. Project Mumbai: working with several public hospitals to provide them with life-saving healthcare equipment and supplies, to cope with the significant stress on the hospital system.

8. Mission Oxygen: helping hospitals across the country get immediate access to oxygen cylinders and concentrators

9. Ambulance Network: HelpNow is an Initiative by young students providing a safe, 24x7 logistics network for transporting COVID patients/suspects, Drugs, Phlebotomists, Healthcare workers (docs, nurses) and Blood/Organs/Medical supplies in India.

Tangent but related: a local teacher is selling lotus polymer clay earrings, with proceeds going to help in COVID-19 relief efforts in India. We worked together at summer school one year, and both worked as ESOL teachers in my district for years. She's doing this in honor of two of her students who are from India. It's probably not as direct as a donation, but I think it's awesome that she's stepping up to help and felt like plugging her efforts here as they are similarly aligned.

Thanks, everyone. I wasn't sure if people wanted to all join together and choose one or two organizations to focus on, or if people just wanted to choose their own groups to donate to.

Also, the Google form tracking thing is for the Diaspora Co. Raffle entries, but the raffle closed on 5/7.
