Who else got their copy of Origins of The Wheel of Time in the mail today? I'm super excited. Thought we should have a thread to discuss it. I'm assuming it contains spoilers for the books, so the spoiler forum seems like the best place for it.

I went out and bought mine today! I'm only 30 pages into it but I'm absolutely loving it so far and can't wait to read more. There is a spoiler warning in the book's introduction that new readers should finish the series first before reading it

I forgot about preordering it too! I bought the audiobook earlier in the day and was surprised when I found the physical copy on my doorstep.

Got mine yesterday and also spent most of the day listening to the audiobook. I'll finish that up on the drive today...and probably start it over again, to be sure I've absorbed it all.

Got mine in the mail on Monday. Was smaller than I expected. Haven't started reading it yet, but I have nothing to do tomorrow and its the last warm day here... so I think I will go outside and read it all afternoon. I was always curious about how he came up with his ideas, I remember reading WoT as a teen and thinking to myself this culture seemed similar to this one and so on and so forth.

I think this will be a really fun read. :grouphug:

Got mine and did a quick speed read through. Now going back over it slowly. I particularly like the connections entries towards the back.

I finished it and thought it was incredibly fascinating. My one thing is the last part was a bit harder to get through and I felt a bit like I was reading a dictionary but I understand if there was no better way to write that

I'm only finding short spurts of time to read but I'm REALLY enjoying it so far. The introduction from the author was really moving (magic is real 😭 ). Reading about
Team Jordan hearing RJ tell the end of the story from his sickbed, and Harriet's personal reflections (about the wind) after he died
honestly made me cry.

I'm a stickler for not reading ahead, so I haven't peeked at any of the info in the 2nd half of the book yet - I look forward to learning new things every time I turn a page. :pleased-1:
