Greetings,

I have not been a regular participant in a moderated forum arena for a very long time. While I have always been curious about the Wheel of Time series, I was also intimidated by its bulk. Fortunately, with the availability of audio books I am now able to consume them without the intimidation. I am nearly done with the second and looking forward to learning so much more. From this vantage point, there is so much I don't know. The disadvantage of the audio books is that while I know how things sound (names of people and places), I don't know how they are written. Ah well, I will catch up I think.

Welcome to Tar Valon, Ugle! :welcome

This site and its hierarchy are modeled after Tar Valon and the White Tower in the books, which means it's super awesome, but can be a little confusing at first. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions :)

We also have a very active Discord server which you are welcome to join: https://discord.gg/b2DVJu

Also, your name is cool, and your avatar is cool :fistbump

Welcome to TV.net, Ugle! :welcome

The sheer bulk of the series can be intimidating, you're right! :look:

I'm glad you found a medium that will hep you. It's certainly been helping me with my re-read. :pleased-1:

If you have any questions about how things are written, I'm sure we can figure out what you're talking about. We're a pretty resourceful bunch. :giggle

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :D

Thank you for the kind welcome. I'm glad you like my name and avatar. It isn't my original art, but I have modified it (slightly) to make it more me.

I'm not sure what a discord server is or why one would want to use one...

Discord is a chatroom provider. :pleased-1: Our server is where we gather as a group to talk about different things, away from the site. :)

Welcome to TarValon, Ugle! :D

I can relate to being intimidated by the WoT sheer size. When I first wanted to start the series, I held back because I wasn't sure I'd be able to deal with such a large series :look:
But I did start, with audio books at that, and I loved every minute :)
