New to Series and this Communiy

Hi everyone! By the Light! I found a friendly community hopefully free of Darkfriends, Children of the Light and like minions.

My wife of almost 40 years got me started on this Series. She strongly advised I begin with New Spring. I completed that volume last week. I am now about to begin Shadow' s Waiting, Chapter 19 of The Eye of the World. I am totally hooked! Most of the time I can't put it down! I eagerly look forward to taking this journey with you all. :P

Thank you for the 'Welcome'. I am now starting chapter 22 (A Path Chosen) in The Eye of the World. My goodness Jordan knew how to keep people turning pages! That last chapter had me on the edge of my seat for sure! Trollocs popping up everywhere, Myrddaal...my gosh! And of course Matt is ever so helpful throughout the story. "Let me just tell you about Trollocs!" or 'We're headed to Tar Valon!" lol...

One question that popped up in my mind is what all these creatures from the Blight are doing so far South! Do they know the true identity and roll of Rand in all of this? Just musings coming up in my mind as I'm reading.

Hah! Keen observations. I'm going to presume that's a purely rhetorical question. I'd hate to spoil anything for you.

However, you should feel free to head over to our book discussion forums. I think we have several people who just joined who are also reading the series for the first time. Might be fun to discuss with them. And, personally, I always love hearing first-time readers' speculations and thoughts about the series (I've reread these books countless times, and have been reading them for about 15 years now, so there is very little new content for me).
