The yellow bondage supplies always work *nods*
Welcome back! And there are plenty of Whovians hanging around *points to self*
Yep plenty of them and hi there
Good to have you back with us Jondurwid, I look forward to seeing you around our shiny new boards.
Thanks everyone. I'll try to stick around this time. I have to go through the whole process of getting citizenship again though.
I am just starting the 3rd season of Dr. Who (the current iteration). I still don't like David Tennant. I liked Eccleston so much more.
You don't like David Tennant? He's my favorite!
Oh dear. You're *really* not going to like Matt Smith.
Glad you decided to join us again , see you around the boards .
That's what I was thinking, Autumn Sedai. On both counts!
Thanks! I'm a bit limited until I can get my post count up, but I'm getting there.
I wish Netflix had more of the older Dr Who stuff with Tom Baker, but I did hear that quite a few of the old episodes were lost in a fire.
Well, I have to admit that I have already taken a little joy in watching a snippet of someone grabbing his fez and throwing it up in the air for someone else to shoot.
But Matt Smith is a totally different actor who I haven't seen yet. I might like him.
The reason I don't like Tennant is that I don't feel like he conveys as much depth as Eccleston. For example, in the episode where the tv critter was stealing faces, he was supposed to be so angry and outraged that he was going to be unstoppable. But he came across...kind of lame. I think Eccleston would have shown more depth of emotion and transformation from simply being The Doctor solving a problem to being The Doctor Who Is Going to Destroy Whatever Hurt His Beloved Rose. I just felt more the weight of being the last Time Lord with Eccleston. Tennant seems very lightweight in comparison.
For all I know, Smith will have a greater range of ability than I see in Tennant. Why do you think I won't like him? (Aside from his way too poofy hair )
I really enjoy Eccelston as well, but I've yet to see much of Tennant or Matt Smith.
Emer - I was thinking you probably wouldn't like him because he's a bit silly like Tennant - goofy, energetic, happier, not so much angst as Eccleston. Who knows, though! Sometimes I think Smith is a decent blend of both. Maybe you'll think so, too!
Welcome back, Jondurwid.
I think all the Dr Who actors have done a good job. I do think Tennent is one of the better ones though.
Funny thing about the older episodes.... Plenty of Brits who have them. Although yes, most of the first ones were lost, and some are just on audio.
