GAH! So many spoiler tags in this thread! I want to read them all but....I won't. I'm about 1/2 way through the Well of Ascension at the moment and so far I'm enjoying it. The first book kept my attention more but I'm definitely interested to see where things go. :D

I loved Elantris and the Mistborn. I feel an Alloy of Law could have been better introduced because it was so much more different than Mistborn. Haven't read Warbreaker but Im in the begining of Way of Kings now

Yeah, don't read this thread if you haven't read the books! Spoilers aren't working if they came from the old forum :(

That being said, I have read the Mistborn trilogy and Elantris. I liked all of them. Not loved, like WoT or HP, but liked :)

Sandriel, I'd stick with it. I'm just about done with book 2 of Mistborn, and I'll say that I liked Way of Kings much more (which is the only Alloy of Law book out yet). It takes a little while to get used to the odd plant/animal life, and jumping to different characters all over the world, but it grows on you and begins to make more sense as you read.

Midian, the Way of Kings is the first book of Stormlight Archive series. Alloy of Law is a Mistborn book set in the same world but some hundred (or thousand, I don't remember) years after the ending of the Hero of Ages.

Sandriel, I think you should read it - you'll meet an old acquaintance in the end. It's not as captivating as the actual Mistborn books but I think it gets better towards the end.

I loved the Alloy of Law. It isn't at the same level as the Mistborn trilogy. But it is a good romp. The banter between Wax and Wayne is just priceless.

Finally finished the Mistborn trilogy last week. It was worth the read, but it wasn't fantastic. It might've just been me, but I could see absolutely every reveal happening anywhere from a book to two books ahead ... or when he threw in a little obvious nugget of info that wasn't divulged earlier ... whichever happened earlier. That being said, I think after reading Way of Kings and his work on the Wheel of Time, he has grown as an author. I'm totally up for reading the Alloy of Law. I'm curious to see what happens now that things are how they are in the book.

Very different Midian, the changes and technological advancement is believable and the book is good, but it's well different from the first three.

Just started reading Mistborn yesterday. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, the idea is good but when Kalizer (idk?) goes to steal that rare 10th metal and you see all his powers the pushing/pulling/blue lines indicating metal I just... I got a bit confused and thought there could have been another way of doing it maybe?

I don't know. I'll probably like it more later when its making more sense ha! But I've bought books 1-4 because I thought I'd find something new to read.

Yeah, I can understand the confusion with the fight scenes. It seems Brandon made a specific point to describe the rules of Allomancy without initially explaining them. Wait until you get to Vin's story ... then all the allomancy stuff should make a lot more sense.

Side note: Kelsier, and 11th metal. But ... I don't remember him ever fighting to steal it. It only refers him as getting that from some unknown source.

Yeah, I finished the book last night. Still a bit confusing but slowly getting it. The Glossary in the back helps.

And I meant the Altimum or whatever? The Metal mined in the pits. I have to say I'm pleased to have a part of the book that explains how exactly he got the scars, I figured it had to do with crystals I just didn't know he had to shove his whole hand in the damn thing to get it. Horrible.

Aaaaah just read some spoilers :( Damn !

Anyway, I am almost half way through The Well of Ascension and I have read The Last Empire... maybe a year and a half ago? So I didn't remember much at first, but I am not impressed with it anyway. I hope it's the translation to bulgarian and not really the poor writing of Sanderson :\ I will read till the end and I don't know where I'll find The Hero of Ages, but I am determined to read the three :P

Awww, sorry you're not impressed Ilverin Sedai! How easy would it be to get an English copy? Because Sanderson is a great writer, and the Mistborn series just gets better as you go. The first book starts off a bit slow, but by the time I got to the 3rd book I just could not even put it down.

I am finished with the Hero of Ages :joy

Somehow, when the book started, I knew who was gonna be the Hero, I just didn't know why. And now that I've read the ending, it sounds so fitting! It was an amazing ending in my opinion :pleased-1: I didn't expect many of the things to happen like they did, but that was the interesting part ;)
