[spoiler:pdcxf189]Marsh survived, he(aka Ruin) killed Elend at the end. Since he has a stockpile of atium and he is essentially immortal, at least until he runs out of atium. Brandon said he may use him if he writes future mistborn books.[/spoiler:pdcxf189]

Thank you Vealdan! Now I remember too. Oh, that'd be so cool, more Mistborn books! But yeah I think it'd be waste to not use the already created world + the great magic system ever again.

Agreed! It is a brilliantly creative magic system. :)
I did like Marsh, too.

Ignore me if I'm babbling about how awesome everything was, because I think that's what I'm doing. I always do that when I read a new book.

Also, about Elend- he annoyed me at first but I thought he got better as the series went on, even if he was a bit annoying.

HUGE spoiler...
[spoiler:embarassed:teiu9va]Mistborn trilogy had such a SATISFYING ending... I wonder how the 'magic' will continue with the atium used up, ruin dead, preservation completely spent and re-purposed, the world re-made as it was, and the last surviving feruchemist is now GOD... no mist to make more mistings, no well of ascension to make more mistborn.[/spoiler:embarassed:teiu9va]

I'm not sure about this, since it's been a while I've read the series, but this is my impression of the ending, correct me if something is contradicted straight in the books:
[spoiler:2x95hty2]Preservation and Ruin cannot die, since they are the forces needed to maintain the world. If I remember correctly Sazed now holds them both, and when the series ended he continued creating the world anew. We don't know where it'll lead, and it might well be that he's able to create new Feruchemists (seen as he's been one, and might think it a bad idea for him to be the only one holding the knowledge they stored for ages), Mistborn, or even some new kind of metal magic wielder. In a way the ending was so open that Sanderson can develop it into whatever direction. :D My guess is that if there's another Mistborn book it'll happen way in the future, so that the Sazed-created world has become the norm, and the time of Lord Ruler just distant past. Though that'd be the obvious route, and Sanderson is creative. :p[/spoiler:2x95hty2]

I might be totally wrong, too. :look:

[spoiler:1wavi8dz]Sanderson said that if he would write new mistborn books, they'd be set far in the future, in a industrial-like-age, where there would be no mistborn anymore but there'd be all kinds of mistings, including these that were not used in this triology[/spoiler:1wavi8dz]

[spoiler:3tc3wu6s]That sounds right about Preservation and Ruin though. Now instead of 2 separate forces, they're one all-powerful Sazed. It makes sense to me that a lot of the stuff would keep working how it used to. I'm looking forward to seeing the mistings not used in the trilogy though.[/spoiler:3tc3wu6s]

Axis - TSoIaF was the next book I was going to read after I finish the Phillip Rothfuss - now that you told me that mybe I should pass?.

Well if you find Mistborn too bloody, then maybe you should

ASoIaF doesn't pull many punches. Its pretty graphic.

Lots of violence, sex and incest and so on.

Needlessly so a fair number of occasions I think personally. I like violent scenes as much as the next guy, but some of Martins scenes aren't it in for decent reasons I think.

That's a really interesting question. [spoiler:2xoj48hx]After all, the people who were his friends knew he had ascended into godhood. Then again, I don't think so personally. It seems like the vast majority of the people didn't actually know what was going on. They just were suddenly brought to a new world. There might be a cult of Sazed or something, but I'd guess that the vast majority of people still worship the same way they did.[/spoiler:2xoj48hx]

[spoiler:37xyqma9]I don't think they can continue worshiping - if other than the Lord Ruler priests ever did so - because all other religions besides "the cult of Lord Ruler" were put down, and nobody but Sazed remembered them. I think it'll be obvious that there's no more Lord Ruler - and the new religion about Kelsier seems to be out of date too since the Skaa are now living in a free world, and don't need the Survivor any more. I think there could be some new religion either about Vin or some combination Kelsier & Vin & Elend, because the people would be mostly speculating about the new world and those three were the most visible people during the "revolution". I really can't see Sazed making everybody know it's he who's the God now. I think Sazed would probably want people to start practising some of the old faiths he had researched and stored for so long. :D Again, just my guessing...[/spoiler:37xyqma9]

[spoiler:37zl7kqo]I would think with Sazed's search for truth since Tindwyl's death, he would want people to know the truth. I don't think he'd want people to worship him, necessarily, but I think he wouldn't want them to worship something he knew to be false, either. I think he'd want them to have something to have faith in, even if it was him.[/spoiler:37zl7kqo]

[spoiler:r4e4p5hu]I agree about that he'd probably want people to believe in something. But the way he talked (before Tindwyl's death) about the religions, he seemed to value their individualness: each type of person needed a matching religion. His doubts were another thing, but now after his Ascension we don't know which way his feelings about religion(s) turned. Maybe I think this way just because I'd like to read about a multi-religion world, compared to one where there was only one religion. Anyway it's nice to speculate.[/spoiler:r4e4p5hu]

[spoiler:splzlrk9]Even if they end up worshiping Sazed, there will probably be different religions, and/or factions. Over time, all the facts will become fuzzy and people will develop their own beliefs and ways of worship. So depending on how far into the future the next book takes place, there could be a ton of different religions, all based on Sazed but varied in their beliefs and doctrines.[/spoiler:splzlrk9]

[spoiler:10ao5kfd]I think what happens here depends on what Spook does. I fully except for a sequel to be written in the far future of the mist-born universe.[/spoiler:10ao5kfd]

I'm so glad I read these books.. they were amazing. Unfortunately I haven't really enjoyed his work as much after this series. He's gone a bit overboard with the worldbuilding in my opinion.

[spoiler:215332ys]I cried at the end of HoA, and I don't consider myself an emotional person. For days afterwards I was kind of in a trance. It was just the most beautiful and "right" ending I've ever read.[/spoiler:215332ys]

Just finished the Hero of Ages about 5 minutes ago. And.... wow. Absolutely freaking amazing ending. :joy

I'm sad that it's ended and I won't be able to be 'surprised' at the twists when I reread it later on, but man, so worth it. So much praise for this work.

Nice! You should keep track of when the effects of the ending wear off lol
It's such the best when you don't spoil things for yourself (like how I spoiled most of the WoT)
