Yeah. Also, after explaining so much, the bits that weren't explained stood out as even larger gaps (to me).

I read Final Empire last week, overnight, and I'm waiting to get paid tomorrow to read the other two. I'm very excited, I was surprisingly impressed.
I still think his best work was TGS.

Works for me, too. In fact I loved [spoiler:mi8r6in9]how magical and fairytale like it became, after such a long time in a dreary world.[/spoiler:mi8r6in9]

I'm a big fan of this series as well. I really liked how the series ended and how all three books tied together. In the end, I thought the right characters ended where they should have.

couldnt agree more - its been forever since any book was universally liked by the wot's but three books?!?! awesome and clearly the right guy to take up the rand-ness. mistborn has to become a video game. it just has to. and how about vin v. min? cool idea right?

I read elantris a couple of years ago, before he started on WoT and I really loved it. It's my favorite stand-alone fantasy book.

When I heard he was finishing WoT I started on Mistborn and loved that as well£. I really like the way everything works in there ;D

I read Elantris then Warbreaker and then the Mistborn books and I must say I really liked all of them. It was really weird going from Warbreaker to Mistborn. Such a contrast in the use of their abilities. I must say I liked Mistborn's magic much better. Flying through the air seemed like a really cool thing. Elantris needs another book based on how things ended.

I'm heading in a new direction as I wait for the next WOT book. Going to start "Into the Storm: Destroyermen, Book I" (Taylor Anderson) next and see how it goes.

Finished The Hero of Ages last night, and wow. I don't really know what to say. I really like the series, and Elantris as well, but.. intellectually, not emotionally, if that makes sense. I like the characters but I don't bond with them the way I do with my favourites, so I'm just not as emotionally involved in what happens to them. I like the way the books are constructed, the plots, the surprises, the magic systems.. But I'm not gasping and shivering and laughing and crying, which is a requirement for me to really love books. So, it's weird. :P Still, I enjoyed them all very much, and look forward to read Warbreaker (as well as The Stormlight Archive later).

um, well I read over 600 pages in 2 days, does that say anything?
I loved it. I thought it was very creative and different from other fantasies I've read, but there was a hint of some type of Dragon Reborn story hidden underneath. The backstory of how there was a Chosen One who could either save or destroy the world reminded me of Rand. But anyway, I really liked it and I just ordered the second one from the library. :)

I just finished with Well of Ascension. The pacing of the book bugged me, and those that were once my favorite characters had grown dim. Book 1 as a whole felt much better written. I'm really hoping that its just middle of a trilogy syndrome, and that the characters will develop firther, cause as they are know its right depressing for me.

Yeah... I wasn't a big fan of the second one either. The third's kind of awesome though. The ending is amazing too! It's one of those endings where you look up and go "What in the world just happened?!" But it makes sense and it's great. One of my favorite series ever.

Agreed. I loved the ending of the third one. But if you think about it, there really wasn't any other good way it could have ended. :cheeseeni:

Exactly! I love how he does that. I look back and I have no idea how else I expected it to end, but it still took me completely by surprise. Most of his books are like that for me. Warbreaker was a big one too. Meagan told me I was going to be surprised, so I ended the book with half a dozen theories, but that wasn't one of them. Absolutely amazing.

Yes! and the bookstore! I have to go to the bookstore to get the last 2 Mistborn books so my friend can read them. (She just started. And she's addicted. Obviously.) And I need to buy 1984 so I can read it for English.

I need some BS books from the library. I know for sure they have Elantris. I'll have to check if they have any others. If not, I'll have to go buy some.

This could get expensive. :look:
