I think Tinna is just a random woman, Toral, that was put out of the Tower and still wanted to be useful. The Last Battle called many dudes/dudettes from all callings to action it seems. I would also theorize someone named Tinna (or many Tina :P) either is close to Sanderson or won a conetst or another and was placed in the novel.
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I did a search for Tinna as it wasn't revealed who she was in the book. At first I was sure she was Morgase, particularly from the description she had as unique looking and with an air of authority (then again that's basically how all woman in WoT are described). But then she was mentioned later in Mayene I think it was? Either way, for some reason Tinna was at the back of my mind the whole book and I want to know what's with her!... and Nakomi of course...

Here's a question I have never been to sure about. What age are we in? everyone says the 1st, but it says that portal stones were created in an age before the age of legends ( which is of course the 2nd age), and as I see no portal stones around (or the tower of Genegel) that must mean that there must be at least one age in between our age and the AoL. Yet Thom in tEotW, has songs about the cold war (Mosk and Merk), and mother Theresa (from Ind), so surely we can't be that far away from the 3rd age either. Soare we in the 7th age or something?

"So what happens between Perrin and Galad now? Perrin promised to take his punishment for killing the whitecloaks after the Last Battle.... Now the Last Battle is over and done with, what happens next?"

I thought Galad was given the authority to choose Perrin's punishment by Morgase, and the punishment Galad gave was Perrin to fight the last battle with everything he's got?

I thought we were in the fourth age? Loial mentioned how odd it was that we had rolled over into a new age right in the middle of a day, and his work (the book he wrote) has been quoted several times in the last three books, as written by "Loial son of *insert name here because I forgot* son of *insert name here because I forgot* of the Fourth Age".

No, I think Citizen meant what age are we, the people of the current world living right now, in. Yes, the books ended in the 4th age, but that's not the age we're living in (since the world is a wheel and our time is supposedly part of it).

Citizen: usually people will say we're the 1st age, but there's a pretty convincing argument that we're actually the 7th, like you mentioned.

There's a pretty cool article in the library here written by people from this site that outlines the argument of why we're currently in the 7th age. I suggest giving it a read.

I doubt Tam was ever close enough to Rand to see the sword, especially as Laman kept it in a gaudy scabard. The sword he gave Tam was apparently Justice, Artur Hawkwing's sword, dug up a the beggining of tGS.

Also remember, Rand took off all the ornamentation to the sword and wrapped it in a plain boar hide scabbard. So, in theory, it would look like any other power wrought sword I would think without all the distinguishing markings on it.

Also, can someone put a text reference to when they find Justice I must have missed that one and need to go back to it!

Just finished my re-read completely and have a few questions for bits I cant remember or if people have ideas on.

Is Rand (as Moridin) burned out from the one/true power or just can no longer channel as he has his new abilities.

Can dreamers enter TaR anytime anywhere in the flesh. Could Egwene have left the tower that way any time if she'd wanted?

Ashaman healing aes sedai stilling seemed to have no loss of power, aes sedai healing (other aes sedai) weakened them yet didnt men. Is it that AS can heal men perfectly and Men can heal AS perfectly but they cant heal their own gender perfectly or was the healing used on Siun imperfect in some way? Can burned out AS/Ashaman be healed the same as stilled/gentled ones?

Did the dreamspike perrin put at Shayol gul survive?

Did Satelle Anan survive?

Does Rand only have his own memories now not those of Lew Therin?

Because at some point I everything blends together for me, I don't have an exact reference. But I believe it's found in book 13 when Rand takes over that old hunting lodge in Arad Doman.

I think most people believe that he was burned out.

Perrin's weird ability is, well... weird. It's not made clear whether it's something all dreamwalkers can do, or only wolfbrothers. Any channeler, however, can make a gateway to TAR and enter in the flesh, whether or not they're a dreamwalker.

My impression (though it's never stated explicitly) is that a man can Heal a women completely, and a woman can Heal a man completely, so there must be something about using the opposite half of the One Power to make the bridge. Perhaps when you use the same half of the One Power, some sort of interference is caused that diminishes that person's strength in the Power. But all that is totally my theory.

As for burnt out vs severed, that's a good question. My guess would be that burning out is much more violent, and perhaps leaves a larger "hole," where as severing is precise and so can be easily fixed. So I'd guess that burning out would not be healable. But again, just a guess.

I'm glad Setalle Anan survived. <3 I hope she gets healed by an Asha'man and gets to channel and have her hubby (and kids!) back, too. :D

Im just thinking back to when Egwene entered TaR in the flesh to travel to Salidar, I dont believe she used the one power to make a gateway did she?

I'm nearly certain that she did use the One Power to make a gateway into T'A'R -- in her conversation with Moggy later on, when she's asking about Travelling, she thinks to herself about altering the weave she'd used to get to Salidar slightly in order to make the gateway she demonstrates for Moggy.

Kallarn, it's mainly just repetition... :pleased-1: I've read the books something like eight or nine times through. :pleased-1:

Specifically states her channeling yes

Nervously rubbing her fingers over her palms, she embraced saidar, letting it fill her. And shifted her feet. Saidar made you more aware of everything, including your own body, which she would just as soon have missed right then. Trying something new, something no one had ever tried before that she knew, should have been done slowly and carefully, but for once she wanted to be rid of the Source. She channeled briskly, flows of Spirit, woven just so.
The air shimmered in the middle of the tent along her weave, cloaking the other side in mistiness. If she was right, she had just created a place where the interior of her tent was so similar to its reflection in Tel’aran’rhiod that there was no difference at all right there. One was the other. But there was only one way to be sure.
Tossing the saddlebags over her shoulder, she took the bundle under one arm and stepped through the weave, then let go of saidar.
