OK so.... Revellon is the old name for the Fiefs right? or did I read that wrong....

and the Arkon had visited/lived there while it was revellon...

Ravellon is the name of the heart of the fiefs. From what I understand, yes, the Arkon visited it before the shadows came. He didn't get into it enough to be changes like the Outcaste was.

:look I kind of have a hard time believing that I didn't even realize Nightshade was supposed to be a love interest until he made it super obvious in Chaos. :lol (after he pulled her from the nothing into his castle) I remember being utterly shocked and confused when I read that the first time. :p

I can't decide who I like best, the Arkon, Sanabalis, or Tiamaris. They all make me happy. Which of the Dragons is your favorite?

    Sanabalis...

    or maybe
the only female dragon... who's name escapes me

also cause he doesn't quibble about when Kaylin misses Lord in his title...
and for various other obvious reasons....

my least would be the outcaste...

^^ Yeah, Sanabalis is pretty seriously awesome. Silence really made Tiamaris grow on me, his attempts at humor were so stinkin' cute! ^^ I love how dragonly the Arkon is!
He's the only dragon we get to see really interact with his hoard and everything that goes along with it. Plus listening to his stories is great! Do we ever learn what Sanabalis's hoard is? I know Kaylin asks the once and Tiamaris basically swallows his tongue, but... now I really want to know.

I don't remember the female dragon that well... I remember she exists... and that's about it. :p

I agree, the Outcaste isn't super awesome, though he makes life a lot more exciting!

I really liked Ruin this time! I liked it the first couple times I read it but I really loved it this time through.

I like all the Dragons, but I think the Arkon is my favorite at this point in the series. :love He's just so... Dragonly. ^^ I was impressed at how well he took the news
that Kaylin and Severn left his projection crystal with the Norannir. I expected there to be at least a little fire. :giggle I also love how expressive he is when Bellusdeo successfully got her name. He tries to sell himself as being above... everything and only caring about his hoard, but you can tell that he cares about Bellusdeo and would help her if he could but he also knows it's something she has to do.
    I like him. *nods*

    On to... Peril next?

Peril and Sorrow are really hard for me to get throughh. So much of it is so... abstract. I love a lot of what happens but I keep getting bogged down. Are the events of these books important/long-lasting? It feels so disconnected from everything else.

    :grumble Fine. :grumble

    :p

Goal: finish Peril & 1/3 - 1/2 of Sorrow today. I've only a few more chapters in Peril so it should be a reasonable goal.

That's the goal! ^^ But considering I've only gotten one chapter further... it's less likely than it could have been. :p It's still not out of the question, but I'm going to have to focus if I'm going to hit my goal. Actually, I just want to get to the new books. Your tidbits have been agonizingly teaserly. :p I'm liking Small and Squawky more this time than my first time through. I think the thing that makes these books so hard is thenlack of Sanabalis and the Arkon. They bring joy to my soul. Teela's fine, but she's no Dragon.

    @Randalren Here's one I like: https://mathiaarkoniel.deviantart.com/art/elantra-Emperor-Dariandaros-and-Lord-Diarmat-494464983 It's not Tiamaris, but it's pretty!

I'm about 2/3 through Sorrow. He's still just Squawky McSquawkerton at this point. ;)

I'm so excited to get to Flame. The name implies Dragons and I loves the Dragons! ^^ Plus it's the first completely unread book in the series for me! :D

At my current rate I should finish Sorrow just in time for Deception's release... in January. Sigh.

Have you seen the (possibly unofficial? Michelle hasn't posted the official cover picture yet that I've seen) cover for Deception? https://www.amazon.com/Cast-Deception-Michelle-Sagara/dp/0778331105 I love it! I have always imagined Kaylin more Asian in appearance, but I still really like this picture. It is certainly one of my favorites! ^^

You just think her more Asian because of influences from the sunsword books :p

:cry The end of Sorrow was beautiful. Totally worth the difficulty getting there. :cry
She actually chose not to change the history with Steffi, Jade, and Severn. :cry That would be so hard. So, so hard.

Yeah, it very well could be residual from the Sun Sword. I need to re-read those books. I love Kiriel. ^^ And Auralis. Diora's legit too. And Evayne. And Kallandras. And of course Avandar. Avandar's backstory is probably my favorite of any character I've ever encountered.
