With the e-prologue now out, I thought I'd start a full thread
This might move to a new book 14 forum soon, or it might be when the book comes out
Anyway, I'll post my thoughts later, along with the link to the summary in the library

I enjoyed the Graendal reveal and Taim being revealed as a new Chosen. I also enjoyed the Bayrd part, but I had already read that :P

I did not enjoy the Talamanes portion at all. I am torn on the Isam section. For them to make Luc the evil one and Isam the one we are supposed to feel remorse for? Meh. I can take or leave the other parts.

All in all I think it did it's job, which is to set up the mood for the book. We know the trollocs are running amok, the armies are gathered, and the Chosen are preparing for the end.

I am ready for AMoL

I loved the whole thing ... especially my scene :D my name is the first work of the book ... I came a lil when i read that...

Ive been saying for years that Taim is taim! lol Its cool they made him a new chosen

As for supposed to be feeling sorry for anyone i dont think along those lines. When an author shows something about a character if it provokes an emotional response from a reader thats all on the reader i dont think they plan on those things. An im also not sure he was feeling remorse i didnt get that from him. The closet thing to remorse i guess was when he felt bad for the urchin that was sneaking around in the darkness but that was really just an "i've been there" kinda thing

I think the aspect I was most pleased about with the prologue is how we got to see some of the more familiar faces. I know in previous books, when the prologue is about someone I've never met before, I end up skipping most of it because I can't bring myself to care. The information on Talamanes, which I loved, and the inclusion of Aviehenda's discussion with the Wise Ones were my favorite parts, particularly as her visions have had me the most worried! I was also glad to catch wind of Nynaeve. I will have to re-read the prologue after I get caught up on my overall re-read of the entire series.

Any clues on where demandred is?
He seems to have a large army at his command, so maybe Galgan?

I still think he's Roedran. Well, obviously, I didn't come up with the theory, but it makes the most sense to me. I really enjoyed the prologue, especially the Isam and the Forsaken parts. Even though it wasn't my favorite, I did enjoy seeing Talmanes's POV. Of, course, it goes without saying that Baryd's part was awesome.

I honestly think my favorite part of the prologue and first chapter was about Domon and Egeanin. Because it answers a question about one of Egwene's dreams. In COT Chapter 20 she dreamed of falling off a cliff and hanging for dear life when a Seanchan woman with a sword on her back saves her. Egeanin is often described wearing a sword on her back.

By Grace and Banners Fallen (as there is no aMoL section yet)

Your thoughts on the (depressing, but mostly predictable) prologue of aMoL.

SPOILER: (although that is obvious by the page title)
I loved it. I was not that interested in Talmanes before, but now I am and hope he lives. I did read the first chapter, so I think I know what happens to him, but that is not what this page is on. I thought there was tons of action in the Camerlen battle, and I like how they solved the problems and how the characters lead and managed without the main people (Mat, Rand, Perrin...). There was not much of this earlier, but I think it is necessary for these minor characters to do things and lead battles in AMOL since the main people can not be everywhere. I like how it began and hope we get to hear more of these sideline scenes without the mains. And I think we will to, since it was said there is a massive epic chapter, consisting of at least 100 POV, most of people not POVed before.
I also thought the scene with the chosen was interesting, how they are still squabbling. The only person who isn't is morridon, he seams kind of amused observer who will let the children fight and then scold them into the important things. It showed him having more maturity (funny since you would think they all would have maturity, being 3000+ years old and knowing all their knowledge) and what you would think of a Nila blis. However I do think the squabling was a little thick. Something else to note is the part about Morridon. It is noted he is changed and is changing. This could be due to Rand and his connection. Rand felt the evil and became dark, it would make sense if Morridon felt the goodness and is getting lighter. He did put a sun in the sky, a symbol for light, instead of the darkness or clouds. There is a theory that he will turn to the light before the end. I think if a Chosen was to turn, he would be the most likely. Grendle and the spider are just too busy fighting, Demedread is just hatefull, and it seams Lanfer's incarnation was jsut trying to deceive Rand with the dream, and really wants him dead hence taking to Iasm. And if Morridon did swich, it could be what makes the last battle different from all the others before. If there is not two champions fighting, but instead one supports the other, it has to have some kind of impact. The most interesting part of this was the Demedred section. He seam confident in his armies, and that fact that he needs help overlooking one means he must have multiple armies, probable big ones. There have been theories he is on the Seanchen continent, in Sara, on in Murgandy. He could be raising armies in all three places. And I think he will attack just before or after Rand makes his big announcement.
Then lastly there is the Aiel. I thought the announcement of their prophesied doom would bring more of a reaction, hopefully we see more of their thoughts when the book comes out.

Here were just some overall thoughts, sorry for the length.

Not Talmanes.........that will make me sad.

And still Demandred refuses to reveal. He will be the pivotal villain in this book.

I loved it. I thought it was very thorough, and already gives us hints of the newness and epic ending that's about to come about. Considering one of the key battles is already done, I can only imagine how much more awesomeness this final book will reveal. Also, absolutely loved the look into Slayer. Getting his POV opened up so much more to me about who he was, and who he is as a character.

I suppose the only choices for the female forsaken are Moghedien, Cyndane and Hessaleth. Any would be taking a huge risk by going over Morridin's head. Hessaleth would probably disguise her appearance, but the way she spoke doesn't fit - she knows about Isam's recent failure for example
