Mat and the Horn

Here is an interesting thought....Does anyone in the books know/think that Mat is no longer connected to the Horn? We, the readers have been questioning this for years, but no one in the books has thought of it....so everyone still thinks Mat and the horn is connected and probably wouldn't think of sounding it themselves. Also, didn't Mat tell Eg that he would be coming for what she is holding for him?

Yes, he did. I think this means it will still be Mat who sounds the Horn.
