Cadsuane, probably because I saw her how Brandon Sanderson apparently did, as a bully who didn't know anything near as much as she thought she did and nearly brought about disaster by refusing to adjust to the world as it was, rather than as Robert Jordan did, as the strict "maiden aunt" who will give you the opportunity to do new things, but hold you to very high standards

Among the main cast? Throw a coin to decide between Mat and Tuon. They really deserve each other.

I don't actually like any of the three boys. That being said, I wonder did I enjoy reading the books at all.

Short explanation: none of them wants to share their thoughts honestly with anyone, not even the ones closest to them. That makes me sooooo frustrated.

Rand. Past the first book, I find him really tedious and have a hard time reading through his POV scenes. Everyone else, even the characters that really annoy me *coughPerrinandFailecough*, I'm at least engaged in the story.

As for who I would dislike if they were a real person... Yes, Cadsuane. Elayne would make me crazy. I'd probably butt heads with Elaida.

As for who I dislike reading: Perrin when he's chasing after Faile. Annoys me to no end.

Right now, Moiraine. As I continue my re-read I'm sure someone else will annoy me more than she currently is. :tug

I agree with Mother. I also find myself really disliking Gawyn more and more as the series goes on. I don't like Gawyn and Egwene as a couple, and I find Egwene really really irritating whenever he's around.

Egwene, or Elaida II as she should be properly known. Her arc is an interesting story but he way she is written really annoys me.

Because there are butt-kicking women characters in them? :P I agree with you on the ta'veren boys. I think I've gotten tired of the Destined for Greatness trope. I always found the female characters more interesting; they actually wanted to be in positions to help fight evil and save the world, instead of having it forced on them.

That being said, I have a hard time deciding if Tuon or Gawyn pissed me off the most.

Nothing against the Aes Sedai here, but Just about every Aes Sedai in the book, except Moirane and Verin, annoyed the crap out of me. A simple thing to say to most of them;
"pull the stick out your ass, you spoilt prats, not everything and everyone belongs to you. So, stop acting so high and bloody mighty!!"

Oh I have to have a small list here and combat a few mentioned earlier:)

Cadsuane! I love her, mean old rotten person but hell bent on staying alive to do her duty and basically standing up to the most powerful people on the planet.
Mat? Maybe, its a black tower thing, but he was pure enjoyment to read and would be excellent to go dicing with.

Least favorites?

Perin - Seemed like exactly the moron that we were reassured ad nauseam that he really wasn't underneath.
Elayne - She would drive me batty in real life.
Min Farshaw - She was a wonderful tough hardnosed young woman for most of the series. Then....a complete woolhead.

Am I alone in thinking that Faile is a royal b****? Like, basically everything she says and does is selfish, stuck up, and bratty.

I only came to like Faile (a little) much later on - around the time she realises how useful her mother's training was. And she's sometimes ok in the Shaido camp. But her + Perrin, no. It's just awful.

Actually, can I just mention Berelain? Her whole "campaign" to "win" Perrin who is a married man just seems... beneath her. We're supposed to see her as this crafty woman who managed to protect Mayene, but I find it difficult to see her as more than a nasty, scheming little trollop. She made Perrin's life a whole lot harder than it had to be, and when it comes to the scenes which bug me most about Perrin+Faile, she's usually involved somewhere.

It's funny how this seems to change depending on which book I'm reading.
I can't really decide. Generally I don't like the way RJ progress the love-stories. They seem to lack ... build up.
It's all love at first sight for everyone and none of the men seem to do any actual courting, as you would expect from the sort of times the storyline is set in. Of course we cannot help but project our own biases on stories like these and perhaps in RJ's world that's how love works. Personally I found it hard to buy into. Like Nyneave galloping after Lan after being in his company for like 5 minutes and offering herself to him in pretty much the first chapters of the book... c'me on.. really?
So I would agree and say I don't like any of the characters when they are involved in a love story. They become insufferable.

I'd agree with you Inanna, though I kind of like Egewene's love story. But most of them are less than edifying

I have always thought that Lan and Nyneave's love story was over-rated. There are other love stories that I like more. I like how Mat treats courting Tuon like a game of stones. He brings Solucia presents after Tuon gives his necklace away. In the end Tuon has to respect Mat if not be madly in love.

I always felt like some of the Chosen/Forsaken were almost afterthoughts in order to bring the total to 13. Demandred, Messaana and Moghedian felt kinda lackluster. Like second-rate villains who were only villains because they were terrible at being good.
