Oh, I know it isn't much for Butcher but I've gone through his books several times already. It is my own fault for listening to audio books while talking walks I suppose, haha.
Yeah we have a winner.
I can't help but share a story here...
I have all of Earth's Children. The first four belonged to my grandmother. My mom had read them, gotten them when my grandmother passed away. Passed them on to me. I read them. Discovered that there was a fifth. Mentioned this to my mom. The conversation went something like this:
Roh: Did you know there's a fifth?
R: Also, did you know she's writing a sixth and it is supposed to come out in a few months?
M: What happens if she dies before then?
R: It's okay, they never announce a release date before she's finished the manuscript, so it'll still get published.
M: Oh good... What happens if I die before then?
R: The book will still come out
You would say that to your mother. Tis' unkind.
Sooo.... did anyone else get the preview chapter for Peace Talks by backing the Dresden Files boardgame on kickstarter?
The first sentence is a doozy.
Justine is pregnant.
Give me more!
The lack of spoiler tags in email notifications is KILLING me here.
Roh and Ty got me into reading the Dresden series about 2 months back, I finished most of them in the first month, I have promised my Girlfriend I would finish a book she got me before I read any more Dresden but I cant get into the book, partly because I know there is more Dresden to read.
Heh. I know how that is... not the GF thing, but the more books to read thing.
There are always more books to read and not enough time to read them!
I guess if anyone wants the sample chapter, pm me?
I'm really sad. I was doing a re-read on my kindle, and then it died. Now I have no easy access to Dresden. I mean, I can read it on my computer I think, or my iPhone, but neither is ideal.
Ugh, any good black friday deals on new Kindles?
Hadn't thought about that, I should look it up.
Paperwhites are pretty affordable right now, I think.
My biggest concern is that you get what you pay for. I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas last year, and it stopped charging after 6 months. My brother won't even open it up to fix it b/c it's not worth the effort. I'm worried that I'll buy another Kindle and it'll die on me too.
I'm very happy with my Kobo Glo. Doesn't have all the fancy bells and whistles, but you can read books on it, and I've had it for two years now with no troubles.
I had a Kindle 4 (Non touch) and it worked for years, one of the buttons started going and the paint was rubbing off so i Upgraded to a Paperwhite (2015) and its brilliant. 4GB storage, great quality screen and lighting and the battery life is still great and ive had it for over a year now.
Kobo's are also good (and support epub) but my Wifes Glo has never had good battery life.
