Is there a way to hide a thread?

Without having to block the person that created it, is there a way to hide a thread? I have severe pyrophobia and right now there is a thread in General that is making it so I can't go into General without having an anxiety attack. There have been other threads with similar title issues as well but they have been easier to avoid, this one though is like RIGHT THERE. I don't want to have to block everyone who makes a thread about... the thing I have a phobia of... but I also just can't keep seeing these threads. So... is there a way to do this?

Through a similar.. hiccup, I learned that by having the initial post starter on "ignore".. everything they start or post is simply "not there" or "hidden". I think you still can see the thread though feeds... It may not be fool proof.. but I do warn, you will not see ANYTHING that individual posts until you remove them from your 'ignore' list. :/

Yeah, I'd rather not have to do that as this person is, I'm sure, very nice. (I don't actually know, I've never interacted with them.) And seeing the thread through feeds will still cause problems as the title itself is triggering major anxiety attacks. I may have no choice but to do that and just take a klonopin when I come to TV, but that seems rather extreme.

I can look into it? But I am pretty sure that without a title change? Not likely.

That's what I was afraid of. Well, I'll just avoid General until that thread falls off. I've had to do that before, just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask if there was another option. Thanks.

maybe ask the person who created it to change the title without having a mod interefere??? :\

I don't want them to have to change the name of the thread if at all possible. It's their thread and I'm sure they named it that for a reason. I don't want to bring in a mod or anything like that, was just hoping there was a function I had overlooked so I could just *block* or *ignore* a thread. Sadly it doesn't sound like there is. I don't want to try and police how other people post, just wishing there was a way to create my own safe space, I guess.

I wonder if there is a way to put a censor filter on your profile to maybe do **** like profanity filters?

I will check that out, thanks! Part of the trouble with censoring though is the words can be used on other ways that aren't a problem. Like "how do you fire a gun?" isn't a problem, or "my cake exploded"... it's the context of the words. Sadly censoring doesn't take context into account. It's a good idea in the meantime though while I try to figure out another option. Thanks!
