I lost my face..Help me get my Avatar back!

So for Shaoman, I deleted my avatar and then uploaded the new one. Worked like a charm, no problems. This morning, I deleted the Shaoman avatar then uploaded my new one. It shows that it was saved in "My Account", but when I come to the forums, it's not there and if I close my browser and come back, the avatar is no longer showing up in "My Account". I've tried clearing everything, didn't work. I tried refreshing..Didn't work. Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? :scratch

Nevermind...It's working now. Thanks for fixing it, mystery admin!

Hey folks, if you can't get your regular avatar to load by the suggested means, please post a link to it here are one of the admins will try to get you fixed up. Serenla

It's a weird bug thing. Post the link to your avatar here, and one of us with Admin rights will try to sort you out.

The only success I have had is to delete your avatar, log out, log back in, and upload it again.

Azi, I wish I would have known that before I deleted my Shaoman one. Then again, I had no problem uploading my Shaoman one, so I thought maybe it wouldn't be a problem changing back.

Azi, I tried your suggestion using the "My Account" link to the left (rather than User Control Panel) and now I don't have an avatar at all. This is a moderate improvement over the patriotic bald man I had before... but still not ideal. When I browse to my old avatar and try to upload nothing happens.

Suggestions?

I can get my Shaoman avatar deleted, but if i try to load my normal one, it just goes back to the purple ghostie. :desk

Sometimes it helps to try from another computer with a different system software, but no guarantee. I didn't have any difficulties this time.

Myralin, when you upload your ordinary avatar, and get the shaoman one, check whether refreshing the page gets the correct one there for you. That's what my problem was. After that, it stayed in the My account page correctly, but still wouldn't show in the forums, until I cleared the cache.

I had saved my avatar before changing it for Shaoman, and when I tried to upload it again, it didn't work. Then it looked like it did, but on the forums it was still my Shaoman one. The problem I was having is that the picture didn't save at the proper size. Make sure you are doing it from "My Account" and not through your control panel. Also, check your dimensions and make sure they are 110 x 170.

I don't see the suggestion in this thread, although it's come up in other threads. Sometimes changing the size so it's a pixel smaller (110 x 169) makes it work. :scratch

I have tried uploading my avatar a few times now, from my computer not photobucket, I've deleted my cookies and it says that my settings have been changed but my avatar doesn't appear in my profile or any posts I make. Any suggestions?
