Hey all! I haven't been active here in over two years, but I'm looking to get back into the community. I joined in 2013, when my twin sister, Kassina, got me to read Wheel of Time so I could play mafia here. I definitely enjoyed my time here with this community, and I'd love to get back into things! So...hello again Tower friends!
Going a little bit crazy, trying to finish my dissertation while barely leaving my house since March, but overall doing alright!
I'm studying computer science, specifically in a research group that focuses on machine learning and causality. So my dissertation examines current approaches to evaluating methods for causal inference, points out all the things that are wrong with those methods, proposes some new methods, and then performs a large-scale evaluation of a bunch of popular causal inference methods. I've done the first two main bits (here's what's wrong with the field, here's a way to get good data to fix it), and I just have the final bit (now let's use that data to evaluate stuff!) left.

It does sound really interesting Aelonia Do you already have the data that you're going to evaluate or are you in the process of gathering it still?
I'm nearing the end of the gathering process - though gathering in this case is really just 'downloading from public repositories', so it's not particularly challenging, just tedious. We should be able to start analyzing soon though!
